First Pre-Op Appointment

Recommended Posts

So I was wondering if any of you knew approximately how long it takes to get your first appointment after they get all of your information. They should have finished getting all of mine almost 2 weeks ago. I'm impatiently waiting because I want to be banded already lol

Unfortunately I think it varies greatly.

You said after they get all your information. Does that mean your insurance has approved surgery? Or are you still having appointments required by your doctor such as Psych, Nutrition etc. and that is the information they have received?

Every office is different and has a different size of case load. I think it is best just to call the office and ask how long it generally takes them.

They have all the stuff they need from my doctor, nutritionist, psychologist all of that stuff. Once they get that then they schedule your first pre-op visit with their nutritionist and nurse practitioner. I've emailed them (they use remedyehr.com) and no reply back from 3 days ago...I'm getting impatient and anxious and nervous lol

they finally sent me an email back and she told me that once they receive all of my records then I will have my first appointment within a week or two weeks. I got a hold of my doctor's office and they just kept faxing my pap smear order and not the results IDIOTS!!! so yesterday they finally sent the correct paper and I also got a hold of my therapist yesterday. She finally faxed my 2 psychological evaluations yesterday. What took her so long to do so was her father passed away. I feel bad that she lost her father but she felt bad for not faxing my evaluations and I told her that it was completely understandable. But now when I go to look at my tasks on remedyehr.com it says that they need my 6 months dietary supervision papers before I can have my first appointment GRRR so I sent yet ANOTHER email to them asking what is going on because I sent them with my packet and the woman didn't mention any of that in her email about paperwork missing. I swear going for lap band you have to jump through sooo many hoops lol but its worth it in the end :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
