I find the only time I really have a problem with this is when I eat really salty food. Lower your salt intake and it will get better!

I have no problem with the B4, but during and after....given some decent restriction, you will be cured of your hesitation the first time it immediately comes right back up on your plate!

The fact that you can gulp water at all.............that will change in time if you continue on this journey.

yes my problem is during too, and I love spicy food so what am I to do now :(

LOL B-52, Im enjoying it while it lasts! :P

It was definitely hard for me at first too. Just stick with it and eventually it will be second nature to you. Good luck!

My dr never said anything about not drinking 30 minutes before eating....maybe I mentally blocked that out. Now they told us we can sip a little bit of water while eating and to wait in between bites like you would your food. I don't drink much during meals, but having a tiny sips sure is nice!

Its' so weird how every Dr. is so different on what to do post and pre surgery but yet its the same surgery for all.

You'll find whatever works for you.

I had surgery 5 months ago tomorrow. I have no problem drinking up until I eat my meal, but after is a definite no no. I usually don't even WANT to drink. You will get the hang of it.

I agree.. I must admit at time I drink like 10 mins later!!!! That doesnt really affect me in any way!!!!! So I dont worry too much about it... I do understand that everyone is different though!!!

its been 5 minutes since i ate and it feels like hours trying to hold off as much as i can lol.

If you have proper restriction and gulp...it hurts like crazy. The worst "stuck" episode I've ever had was on water.

I have a lot of restriction, and must take teeny tiny bites and chew like crazy, but I can still easily gulp water. Everyone is different.

Not drinking during and after eating is hard. I find myself staring at the clock just waiting until I can have a drink some days.

Like Holly Dolly, my surgeon said I'm free to drink before eating, but I should wait 30-60 minutes after eating to drink again.
