I started sleeping on my stomach 3 days after surgery, never heard of that you can't, but all of us are different and maybe some will feel discomfort while others won't. Good luck.

That's the only way I slept up until I had surgery. It's been 2 years and I still can't sleep on my stomach. I am just so uncomfortable. Not sure why? I try every now and then. When I first roll over I am in heaven. I loved sleeping on my stomach. But it doesn't last long. Just can't do it. Oddly, I have gotten very used to sleeping on my back and I COULD NOT SLEEP a wink before on my back. Didn't think I'd ever adjust! But, I did.

I sleep half on my stomach and half on my side. Since about 2 weeks after surgery, I've been fine with any position. I did feel a little bit uncomfortable on my stomach last night after my latest fill, but I wasn't surprised and I doubt it will last.

I woke up on the 4th morning after surgery and found I was on my stomach. I'd had a really good sleep! I regularly wake up now on my stomach with no discomfort. I do however feel my port might be a little tilted but after getting a few people to have a feel at my WLS support group, I am reassured that it is nothing out of the ordinary and the nurse should have no problems giving me the fills:)

I've always been a stomach sleeper but it took me several weeks after surgery before it was comfortable again.

My doctor said I could sleep on my stomach as soon as I was comfortable enough with it. I had surgery on the 16th so I was trying to sleep on my back but I woke up this morning laying on my stomach. My port site was a little sore after that but it's fine now.

I slept on my side last night (had surgery in the morning) and was ok. It was little more painful than on my back, but so much more comfortable!! I can't wait till I heal a little more so I can do half belly half side again!

I too had a little discomfort on my tummy. I asked about it, and I think whatever is comfortable is what you should do. The discomfort might be from the port being pressed in a bit.

I sleep in my stomach every night. When I was first banded I couldn't because it did hurt. My nurse said to sleep in my side and hold a pillow up to my stomach. The pillow also really helped to support my stomach when I stood up for about a week after

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
