I went for my first fill today and omg I was so scared. I started feeling some hunger a few days ago so decided I did want to do a fill a small one. Well she tells me to lay down and the I see the needle thought I was gonna pass out that is not a small needle and she didn't use anything to numb me. Then the poke...Wow! I couldn't believe it I didn't feeling anything what a relief. I did not have any pain it was a breeze for me. Just some info for those of you that are going in for your first fill.

I was very worried going to that appointment...lol..I think most of us are because you are getting poked but I so glad it went good so that way next time I know what to expect. Good luck on your fill! Hope it goes good for you.

LOL...I have seen the needle too and didn't know what to expect...haha Nope it does NOT hurt!! I even helped my surgeon with my fill today, I had to hold the saline bottle while he injected the needle into bottle...hahaha! And trust me, I am petrified of needles.

I go on the 26th also, Not looking forward to it for one reason...I still get "charley horse" muscle spasms in my stomach and the doctor asks the patients to do a leg lift so he could find the port. Im just hoping that my ab muscles behave! I hope he gives me a choice for how much he could fill because I often find myself starving, especially when doing more activity.

Thanks for the information and the confidence booster!

My surgeon makes me do a crunch. No leg lift! Usually he uses fluroscopy (xray) for his fills. But my port is visibly seen and you can feel it. So this fill was done in his office. Just make sure your doctor has you drink Water after your fill. Being able to get your fluids down is important. My last fill was so tight, it hurt drinking fluids. My first fill was 4 cc's. Tell doctor you want a good fill :)

My doctor said if I only want a little Fluid she would do half a cc instead of 1cc which I really liked cause she gave me a choice. I did have 3cc at surgery put in so now I have 3.5 cc and doing great.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
