I know everyone will do great.

The surgery was over really quick and recovery isn't that bad.

I am 6 days post op and it's going great. I was just at the doctors and lost 10.5 lbs since surgery. I was over the gas on the 4th day. For the first 6 days I was on a Water and ice chips. As of today i am on Protein Drinks for 2 weeks.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I wanted to give everyone a pointer:

If your doctor gives you a breathing spirometer (device you suck from) use it no matter how much pain your in.

I will admit I didn't do it long in the first few days due to pain and I am at risk now for pneumonia. It has been 7 days and I can't get a deep breath in.

So please work thru the pain so it doesn't happen to you.

Hi guys I am one day post-op and I'm still in a lot of pain. yesterday when I had surgery as soon as I woke I was in so much pain! My pain was incontrollable. They say it's also due to my hernia also. It is different for everyone some people don't experience any pain at all. I will try and keep updating.

Try Spry sugarless gum or breath mints. You can get them at the Vitamin Shoppe or order online. I've also seen them at Whole Foods. They're sweetened with Zylitol. I keep some in my purse all the time.

YES!!!!!!! I have been having this issue as well. It has seemed to not be as bad the past two days, i'm on day 6 of my pre-op but I was told the same thing about it being the loss of weight. I have been chewing sugar free gum and trying to down as much Water as possbile to keep my mouth from being dry. I have been having an issue with tasting Vitamins all day now that, like indegestion. UGH I hate it.

I am getting banded on May 24th. Very excited and nervous at the same time. I hope that I am able to do the pre-op diet as well as I need to. I mean, if I could do an all liquid diet then I wouldn't need weight loss surgery. Can't wait to start my new life!!

Well....Friday will be here before I know it. I was blessed to only following a diet for two weeks and start my liquid diet tomorrow. Well.....I started it today because I'm afraid doc will get in there and say my liver is to big!! What Ive had today is Breakfast....a shake.....Lunch.....a shake....snack....jello. I got home from work and want to wait a bit before making another shake so I'm sipping on some beef broth and it is delish. I thought that it was going to be very hard today (doing liquids) but it has actually been pretty good. And did I mention the broth is delish...LOL!! Oh and I've had all my Water plus!!! Ive been writing down what Ive had today which wasnt hard to keep up with ....LOL My plan is to have one more Jello before the night ends so my calorie intake for today will be 460. Anyways y'all have a great night.

Getting very excited for Friday the 4th!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
