What Other Changes In Your Behavior Have You Noticed?

Recommended Posts

Wondering if, as you've lost weight and adopted new behaviors related to eating/exercising, if you've also changed other behaviors? If yes, what did you change?

That's great! I can imagine that with improved self esteem, you are excited to be noticed and don't want to just blend in anymore.... How exciting!

As for eating, I have way more Protein and veggies than I did presurgery. Before my plate would be loaded with potatoes or rice. Now I measure out 1/4 cup and the rest is veggies and protein. As for exercise, I have always walked, but have added some running into my morning routine. Today we are getting a treadmill so I am excited to start doing that as well.

My clothes shopping has definitely changed! I love getting new things and now wear heels most of the time.

I would have to say the biggest behavior I have changed and it has only been the last couple of months (I've been banded 3 years)and that is taking "me" time. I have always given to others, do everything for everyone else, always placing my needs last and FINALLY, I am getting it!!! Never again will I put myself aside for everyone else! I am making "me" a PRIORITY!!! :-)

Exercise has become a priority for me. I played a lot of sport as a kid but gave up most of it by the time I got married at 20. Now I look forward to my exercise each day, especially as my husband likes to join in, whether it be walking, dancing, cycling or swimming. It has very quickly become our time together which makes it even more special.

I'm with you on this! I exercise easy 4-5 times per week (nothing less unless I'm sick)! I actually push myself at the gym. Even when I was losing weight in the past, I never pushed myself. I would just do the same routines over and over. I track what I eat. So now I know how much Protein, sugar, carbs, Vitamins, and arguably, most importantly calories I am ingesting. Unfortunately, I have also turned into a shop-a-holic! It's been years since I've been able to NOT shop in plus size stores/departments!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
