Hello I'm so excited' I just had my Lap Band surgery March 5, so it's been a lil.over a week. I had my First post op. Appointment tuesday the doctor said I lost 14lb Being on a clear liquid diet I have a question. I know I can't eat and drink but my question is....is this for ever?? Or inly during healing after surgery?

Thank you all for your responses....of I drink before diner I would have to wait 30 minutes to eat right?

My Dr says I can drink right up to the first bite and then no drinking for 2 hours after the meal. It will depend on what your Dr orders.

So many different "rules"! My surgeon is 30 before, 30 after. It does get easier after a while and now I don't even consider drinking with a meal. The hardest part for me is the 30 minutes between morning exercise when I drink water like it's going to run out and then having to wait to eat my breakfast. But I have found I can't eat breakfast, wait 30 minutes and then exercise, so I am just learning to live with it
