Hello all!!! HAPPY 1 MONTH BANNIVERSARY for all my surgery twins!!!! I can't believe a month has already passed! So far SO GREAT!!!! Very very pleased with my decision!

Had my first fill today! Shockingly, my band was NOT filled at the time of surgery. Which I really thought it must have been, as I have felt very much restricted this whole time! Anywhoo, got 3ccs put into my 10cc band. Hoping the lbs will now start falling off again b/c it had been at a complete standstill once I started mushies n then solids.

Well, have a great evening, my March Bandsters!!!! <3

hi there sleeping beauty. this might be my second post in reply. lol.. who cares?? lol. I didnt have any fill either when i had the band put in. it was strange because it sure does feel like its got some. i did ask my dr about it and he said no.

but, it feels like restriction. im wondering how much swelling would be still in my stomach after just over four weeks?? i had a nasty episode this morning which i posted about earlier so i cant take anything for granted at all. i certainly cant fool myself that i can eat anything anyways.. it just doesnt happen for me. Im pleased about that though.

having said that... im wondering about my first fill. im assuming that i will have some fill put in on the 7th when i go back to the dr.

Have you been very hungry these last couple of weeks?? what do you think your hunger has been for?? ive found out it was for red meat. last night i had my first plain hamburger... and it was just sooooo good. lol. im having another one tonight. just mixed in with some sloppy veges and some gravy. I never ate a lot of read meat... but obviously my body was missing it a lot. i have had some chicken now for the last week... it was the red meat that really did the trick.

... i havent lost anything in at least a week. not since my food has been more substantial anyway. how many others experienced a loss of weight gain when their diet was changed from liquid?

Yeah, I definitely feel the same. No one could tell me I wasn't restricted! N shockingly I technically wasn't since there was no liquid in the band. It definitely has been a GREAT thing that I have felt restriction. Otherwise, I know I wouldn't have maintained the weight I have lost. I definitely plateau'd once I started on the mushies n solids--which really sucked. So happy to start losing some lbs again! The past week or so was really becoming the 'hell' ppl talk about. I was CONSTANTLY getting hungry n not really behaving as much as I should. Which is another reason why I'm glad to have gotten filled!...I have ate grilled chicken n it feels like such a luxury! I LOVE meat!!! I haven't tried a hamburger yet, but I can't wait till I do!!! N I can't wait for STEAK. Ughhh...I hope eventually my band can handle a few bites. =\ But I'm glad to see u are maintains you willpower! Continued success!!!

I feel something when I bend over but when I come back up it feels like it adjust maybe not popping I just try not to bend that way. Only when I bend from the sides. I thought it was normal? It's not?

I don't feel it move but some days it is really sore and I don't feel it until I bend over. Last night was one of those times. It was so painful. I just figured it's cause I got a fill on Monday and it was normal.

Ok... So I haven't been on for some time. I have been doing fairly well, all the way up to this week. I have been making horrible choices for the last 2 days. Yesterday, I only had Protein with dinner! Everything else was a poor choice. The funny part is, that it was just due to laziness. I didn't feel like cooking, so I didn't. Whoo hoo! Way to stick to the plan right? I need to exercise! Trying to stick to my doctor's orders and not doing anything until May 5th is killing me! Even heavy, I am an active person. I guess I'm just a little depressed that I can't do anything REAL. My activities prior to the surgery included zumba, bellydance, roller skating, stroller skating and roller derby! I miss my sports and dancing!

Ok, pity party, table for 1 please!

Done now.

Hello fellow March Bandsters!!! Today is my first fill and I am little nervous and very excited to move on to next stop in my journey! Learning to listen to my body I think will be the hardest hurdle but I have been working on it the past few weeks! Looking forward to watching our journeys!

Hey Nicki823.....we all have a pity party for ourselves from time to time. It's very hard to make good choices at times. My weakest point is when I have let myself get too hungry then I just reach for anything. Without feeling restriction making good choices gets very hard and we have all been through it, or we wouldhn't have had to have the surgery. I hope you can get back you the plan and your exercise. Zumba looks so fun and I so wish I could do something like that but my bad knees prevent me. So go dance it off, girl! Make a few moves for me too!!!!

hi everyone! How is everyone doing?

I got my first fill on Monday (2cc) but do not feel any more restriction. I am scheduled to go back in for another 2cc on May 11. I am definitely getting fuller faster, so that's nice :)

I bought the new Fitbit Aria WiFi smart scale, and am a little sad to say that it shows a 2lb higher weight that my older scale. I guess on a good note the scale is right about the same as the Dr's office...

Got my first fill today 3cc's. I was so nervous about the needle but it really didn't hurt at all.

Today was a bit of a challenge after receiving my first fill I had a Bridal Shower to attend all that food and all I could have was liquids. The restaurant was very nice and served my broth but oh the food I missed  but really it wasn't that bad and I made it through and had a great time.

I hope this fill causes some restriction because I haven't had any all. I have a wedding in July and hope to be down a somewhat significant amount of weight

Had my first fill last week I'm at 5 cc banded 3/5/12.... I joined my fitness place and according to eat I'm not eating enough to loose the weight . It doest take into account that I've got the band... So I don't feel like eating any more and if you exercise you have even more calories to eat..... Started at 236, been stuck at 218 for the last 2 weeks. What am I doing wrong or do I just want faster results!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
