So I got banded this morning and the dr also removed my galbladder he said it was inflamed. This was more painful then i was expecting but im dealing with it and taking my meds. I never knew someone could enjoy sucking on ice lol. Well I had the surgery around 1pm and stayed in hospital until 8pm just to make sure everything was ok. Im having no problems getting up and walking around and the gas hasn't been as intense as I was expecting. Thanks to you guys I stopped on the way home and got some gas-x and took it as soon as I got home. liquid diet was horrible I was on it for only 1 day pre-op and now post-op 2weeks but I got a serious headache i guess from not eating. I don't want to get one of those again that was terrible. So im off to bed now just wanted to check in and keep you updated. Hope everyone else is doing great........

4 days post op and I still have no appetite at all and finding it hard to get in all my Water. With that said I am feeling very tired probably because I am not getting enough Vitamins as I need. Is anyone taking Vitamin supplements and suggestions, I am assuming I will need some sort of chewable. I am going to head to CVS in a little to see what I can get.

How is everyone getting there Water in???? My day so far consists of 2 Protein shakes, 2 tablespoons applesauce, 1 tbs Peanut Butter and maybe 20 ounces water if even. I also try to get in a small cup of chicken broth. I can tolerate it all but I really do not feel like eating and the smells of some of the foods really turn me off.

Other then to food issue I have been feeling pretty good, only one sore spot in one of the incisions, I was going a bit stir crazy so I even went to my book club last night, it felt great to get out. Although I did get a bit tired and left early but that was at about 10PM so it really wasn't that early, lol. Today I am going to attempt to go to a baseball game my friends son is playing in my neighborhood so it might be good to get out again just for a little while. I think getting out and feeling normal is what I need to help some of the tiredness to go away.

Thanks for listening and any Vitamin suggestions would be much appreciated.

I bought the O-Purity Vitamins by unjury , they are band specific. I am also taking a Calcium chocolate chew, Biotin 5000, and a sublingual B12.< /p>

I am on what I consider post op day 5 and am feeling well. Still have gas pains, even though I a moving a lot. Also feel kind of bloated from the gas. Have been using a heating pad and gas chewables.I am able to eat three meals a day. I get full easier, but do get hanger growls/pain in between. I am drinking one Protein shake and different Soups throughout the day.

i would say day 3 was a turning point for me. I went from being in slight pain from my incisions to just feeling sore. Have stopped my pain meds.

I had my surgery on the 19th. I started feeling a lot of burning around my port when I am walking around. I can make it stop if I put pressure on it with my hand. Has anyone else had this?

Judych. Glad to hear that all went well.

My surgery went great but a lot of nausea from the anesthesia and severe dehydration. Was banded om 3/21 didn't get home until 3/23. Was actually offered another night but really missed my own home and bed.

Had an awful headache until this afternoon, but feel like I'm finally headed in the right direction.

Anyway no surgical and no appetite.

Take care all.

Judych-

Glad everything is going smoothly. I had mine on 3/19. Had 2 hernias repaired and a lot of adhesions removed. I think a was a lot more sore than I had prepared myself for. Took me an extra couple of days to recoup...but I'm feeling much better now. I am struggling with the all liquid diet now. I am very hungry and no its NOt head hunger. My stomach is grawling so hard and long that it has become painful. I finally ate a small amount of boiled Pasta. I stomach instantly stopped grawling. I felt so much better. Its not something Im going to start doing all day, but Im just going to have to add a small amount of something to stop the hungry. I am still getting in all my Protein with the New Whey Protein Shots.< /p>

Went through the same thing, I was dehydrated stayed 2 days but was offered another but I miss my bed too. I did work M,T & th and surgery fri. Since its a busy floor, I hardly ever get a break to eat or drink during 12 hrs. Think that contributed to my dehydration. They did 4 IV attempts and finally got one under my wrist after the 3rd attempt, the anesthesiologist started looking at my jugular and I said oh no. I was getting upset, glad its over. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Readyforchange- your jugular! I would have said "don't even THINK about it". It gives me motivation to make sure I'm hydrated before surgery so thanks for that.

Congrats! I'm glad they snagged your gall bladder. That saved a trip back in in a few months. Gall bladders are notorious for going bad during weight loss. Welcome to the other side!

I do fozzy. I believe it's the tissues knitting themselves back together, and inflammation of nerves. I support that area when I walk, change positions, or sit down or stand up from the toilet. Internal pressure pushes the area outwards, external pressure (hand, small pillow) helps to support the tissue

I have a question??. I never been put asleep before, I'm scared about that. That's my biggest fear. Some ppl say its like going to sleep for 10 minutes and waking up. Not knowing what happened, because its that quick. I get banded Thursday and I'm so scared about that. I'm just gonna pray like I have never prayed before. I have faith..

Dear Ready..............I agree as nurses we are definitely chronically dehydrated. Well glad to be home anyway. My doc also thought we only had to lift 20 lbs not 59 so I guess i'll be home 6 weeks not 4. Definitely need the break.

Error 50 lbs

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
