First Fill For January 2012 Bandsters

I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow with my follow up appointment scheduled for March 8th. My band is empty and I don't think the plan is for me to have a fill on that appointment in March. I hear that my surgeon likes to wait until the following appointment before he gives a fill. Has anyone else experienced waiting that long before their first fill?

I wish there was some universal lapband maintenance etc thing!! We are all over the place.

I had a fill during surgery on the 13th of January, and my first fill under floro on the 14th of February. I am not tight, but I think I might stick here until I really plateau. I feel like my appetite is manageable. I can eat anything I want without getting stuck (I don't want bad things though... if I did I'd probably want another fill). And my appetite is not so bad. I rarely clean a plate, and I go about 3.5-5 hours without real hunger. My doc said I can eat up to 6 meals a day and I'm still at 3 with the occasional snack.< /p>

How is everyone else who had their first fill doing?

For those who are still waiting, HANG IN THERE!!!!!!

Well I had my first fill today and not to bad it didn't really hurt I think my fear was the worse not the poke lol I got 2cc but my doc said he wants me to come back in a month for another 3cc. He said he likes to take it slow to allow of any problems if there is any. I love the fact he wants to take it slow but I really can't wait for the weight to drop off! many of my friends tell me I'm just shrinking and they can really see it in my face but I want my baby belly gone! So we will see how it goes

I am finally getting my first fill tomorrow. My doctor has been on vacation. I am so nervous because I hate needles!

Don't look at the needle, and hopefully you won't feel a thing!

and since this is late, I hope it went well.

Thanks! I did't look at the needle. It was a lot less traumatic than I thought it would be. :) Now back on liquids for two days.

I get my second fill tomorrow. I've been doing fairly well so far I think, but it seems over the past 2 weeks I've noticed I'm eating faster and more. The fill will put me at 4.5 cc.

Second fill went well this morning. Both the doctor and the nurse seemed shocked and amazed that I had lost 10 pounds since my last fill 4 weeks ago... isn't that what this is all about? I am now up to 4.5 cc. I'm definitely struggling more with getting it down than last time. I think this 10 ounce cup of Soup is going to take me an hour to finish!!!

I checked the BMI chart and I am no longer in the "Morbidly Obese" category!!! HURRAY!

I'm scheduled for another checkup/fill in 5 weeks.

Keep up the good work everyone - we're doing great!

Congrats!

I just got my first fill (4cc in a 14cc band) this morning, haven't attempted anything but Water and tea so far. He has already set up the next fill for two weeks. I am kinda looking forward to seeing what it's like eating.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
