Why is it that so many people view this but nobody posts anything? Why aren't we Michiganders chatting away????

Martha

I don't get on too often beause it's summer there is too many things to do outdoors. With working a full time job and a part time job and taking a class. Any other chance I'm out there rollerblading these hips away. Once winter gets there then maybe.

Janet

Looks like you're doing a great job Janet!!! I can hardly wait to get banded by dr boutt!

Martha... anything new with that?? I'm sorry you have to wait for this.

Did you go to seminar already?

Yes, I have gone to the seminar, had my tests, evals, just waiting and waiting.

Martha

I've been too tired to post. Sorry. Got a new puppy and the kids are nuts outside of school. I used to post at night after the chitlins were tucked away, but now, I'm tucked in before they are!!!

I' m going to plan a dinner at my house someday and you'll all have to drive over. I bet we'll be chattin' on-line a lot after that! :scared:

Hope you all had a safe and festive 4th!

Trip..

I have been thinking about getting a new puppy for the kids.....bit mostly for me. I think it a new puppy will force me to get out and walk once I am banded. We have been considering it since we lost our dog last year and now I am almost at the edge of giving in again. What ds you think? Is the puppy too much for you right now or a great distraction? My band date is August 2.

I love my puppy...but right now, I have to pick her up to take her for a walk! She's an 11 week old Maltese. It will be some time before I get to take her for a real walk. For me, she's just another kid....that I'm trying to potty train!

i think an animal always does the heart good! Go for it! Unless you son't want to :scared:

Bandster,

I think that's a great idea. We have two german shephards. One is a lab shepard mix but they're both huge and I plan to get myself out walking them in the mornings and after work.

Trip... I'd love to come for dinner! Just tell me what to bring!

Hi there ! It's Nancy from Warren!! Dr. Hawasli at Eastside Surgical Specialists did my surgery. He is AWESOME and caring and taes great care of all of us! Dr. Meguid is the other surgeon and he's AWESOME too!!! You will not find a better pair of surgeons anywhere!!!

They are on www.macombbariatrics.com and the office is in St. Clair Shores. Seminars are every third Monday at 6:00 pm at St. John Hospital on Moross in Detroit. The next one is tomorrow, July 17th, Lower Level Conference Center.

Come and hear what it's all about!!!

Nancy

Hi everybody! I realized when I got a reminder about this thread via email that I havent posted on this thread since I had my first consultation. Well I was banded on June 16th with Dr. Bhesania in Port Huron. I am feeling great. Just got done with my full liquids and have started on "soft foods." I was very good on the liquid stages. I thought it would be harder but it really wasnt. I am down 24 lbs and all my clothes are fitting much better.

I really like the team at Port Huron. But I am so far away that I am considering changing docs for my aftercare. I understand that the Traverse City bariactric surgeons are going to start doing lap bands in August. I live near Manistee so this is a much shorter drive. As it is I am dreading the drive tomorrow. I have to be in Port Huron at 9:30 am. I asked it they could do it any later but she said that I have to meet a bunch of people and do a class. Does anyone have any idea how long that first 4 week appt lasts?

I am a Michigander too!!

I just don't tell everyone where I am from. My DH gets mad. But I am from Michigan, I attend Michigan State University, and I eat Pinconning cheese and Kogel's...lol...so I am as Michigan as one can be I think!

boobookitty...my husband doesn't like me identifying my location to people either. hehehe. I'm not too worried. What day will you be banded.

BooBookitty- Wow you are just like me. I am not sure how I will manage no more Koegel hot dogs and ring bologna after I am banded on August 2! :phanvan My sister lives in Houston and she is always asking me to send her Koegel's too.

Going for my pre op stuff tomorrow. Only 14 more days til my lifetime of overeating gets under control...at least I hope so.

:clap2: Hey Guys,

I have started losing weight by myself.... 10lbs so far. If they keep my waiting any longer, I won't need to be banded.
