I am so jealous of all of you Febs that are getting fills! I had my surgery on the 20th and my doc says he likes to wait 90 days before the first one. Makes things very hard cuz the only thing controling how much I eat right now is ME!!!

thats a long time. i hope i dont have to go that long. three months nearly?? crikey. lol. im on clear Fluid today, but did have one drink of Protein with milk, to hide my dissolved blood pressure meds.. im on Protein Drinks as of tomorrow.. third day, can have egg nogs ect. anything that will go through a straw.... and thats for four weeks.

I get my first one tomorrow. You know, I'm kinda worried about being able to take my meds after that. Either way, I'm still excited.

cant you crush up your meds and put in a drink??

Hi everyone love to hear all us February bandsters doing great!!! I just went in to see my dr. For my second two week check up cant believe it's been a month since my surgery!!! Well I am down 26 lbs and in an 18 loosely I put on my 16 but they are a little snug. Hope to be able to shop in the women section and plus size by the summer. I was feeling hungry a while ago but I listen to sojourner and bumped it up in the Protein area and it worked!!! I walk 30 min a day 5 times a week but it's all uphill walking. Thanks to this site for support Might not post often but I read all the threads. Keep up all the hard work everyone we can do it :). Oh by the way no fills yet my next app is next month then they will see if I need one :)

So I had my first fill on the 19th which was 4 cc's and had surgery 2/16. After almost a week I am finding that 4cc's is not enough. I am eating every 4 hours and still at 3 to 3 1/2 hours I'm getting hungry. I think I need to try eating every 2 hours. Any suggestions from any other Feb Bandsters that have already had fills???

So, while I am ecstatic about being able to have "soft foods", the weight loss has slowed way down...:( , despite exercising 5-6 days a week. My husband is much happier now also since we have been able to resume our date nights and go places again!

Today I was thrilled to have discovered the PERFECT meal for a bandster...a Kid's meal at Wendy's!! It consisted of grilled chicken nuggets (came with 4, though I only ate 3 of them, and a side order of fresh fruit(more than my allowed 2 oz, so my husband finished it)! Awesome!!

Life is starting to look and feel more normal now:) Signs of progress...now wearing my smaller size clothing again.

Life is good!! Keep up the excellent work, and please continue to share all of the great and inspiring success stories with the rest of us...

Hey Judy,

Some of my meds are time release and I read that you shouldn't crush those. So far, I'm fine. I had 1.8cc put in under flouro (which I live and can't imagine getting a fill without now) and the pills went down ok. I do have mild heart burn though.

cant you crush up your meds and put in a drink??

Hey Judy,

Fortunately I didnt have to do that. I have some extended release pills and I read that you shouldn't crush those. I got 1.8cc and the pills still go down fine. I was scared though. I also got this first fill under flouro, which I think is amazing. I'm spoiled for life now.

Flouro-- I think the full name is fluoroscopy, but don't quote me on that. It's when they do your fill in front of a live x-ray. They doc can see where everything is like the port and the band. and see how you're swallowing the special liquid they give you. It's pretty cool.

o.k.. im not sure how my dr will do my fill. i had a phone call from my dietician today. i havent been able to meet up with her but talked with her on the phone. she wanted me to stay on Clear Liquids for a week. My instructions from my specialist were to have clear liquids for about two days then go onto other liquids as long as i could get it through a straw. (for consistancy). ive got three days to go until thursday. thats a week. i cant go back to just having clear liquids, its not enough. i think im going to keep doing what ive been doing, just be very careful and i wont say anything. At the moment im having clear broth, Protein powders in Water, a little greek yogurt, put in the blender. im having baby food which ive watered down. perhaps i should leave the baby food for another few days?? im about four days out from surgery now.

I had surgery 02/29. I am currently on stage 3 ( according to my instruction shert from dietician). I am on fork tender/ soft foods stage. I have things like tuna or chicken(canned) mixed with mayo and a little Pickle Juice ( can't have pickles yet). I still do some refried Beans with cheese melted on top also. Mostly I do Protein Shakes for Breakfast, or yogurt and 1/2 cup of diced peaches. Yesterday I ate fome of my mom's yummy crockpot corned beef and cabbage. 1/2 cup of each item with msybe 1/4 cup of potato. Was very tender and drlicious. I haven't had any issues with anything yet, bit I sure have not been brave enough to try bread, but I think that can only be to my advantage. :0) That's carbs I don't need. My next appt ( for my first fill- if needed) is the first week of April. I am doing well with foods right now so my goal is to NOT need a fill yet. Even though I am doing well, my weight is at a stand stiill. I even gained a pound or two. ?? Don't get it. I am a weight watcher gal so I have not only been keeping up with my Protein count but have also been counting my points and I am not even getting all my points in. Maybe I am not eating enough. I will see how this week goes. Glad all is well with everyone. May we all have an awesome weight loss journey to getting healthy.

sounds like you are going well... i cant wait to get to this stage myself. i reckon your stalled weight loss is because you are having such a low intake.... can you build the intake up more some days and drop it on others??

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
