Diarrhea Ever Since Lap Band Surgery (sorry If That's Tmi)

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone and Merry Christmas Eve!!!

Surgery was Wednesday and I've had diarrhea ever since. Did this happen to any of you? Its just a huge annoyance because it's the kind that you have to run to the potty for and it's hard to move fast because of my incision pain. :(

Just wondering if this is normal.

liquid in=liquid out. It is very common. Once you get back to solids foods, things should solidify.

I had what I called "explosive decompressions"!! Yikes! Hope it gets better soon!

Denise- That makes sense. Explosive Decompressions is the perfect term! Thank you!

You are welcome! Merry Christmas to you! And I hope Santa brings Oliver good stuff!

Are you having green and red Jello for dinner? Post-op diet at Christmas time must suck. I did pre-op on Superbowl Sunday at a party and was having a pity party about that! On the outside though, I just sucked it up, put on my big girl panties, and did what needed to be done.

It's definitely been hard during the holidays. I'll probably skip the red and green jello! haha I hate Jello. Probably eat red and green popsicles though. :)

This has to be one of the most difficult things I've ever done, but I know in the long run, it'll totally be worth it.

I despise Jello...blech! Trust me, at 4 years out, the pre-op/post-op diet misery are now fond memories. Really! Funny stories to share on the board and let others know they will get through it.

I've been at a normal BMI for over 2 years now, and I've loved every minute of being healthy. I haven't loved every minute of being banded. Stuck episodes are not the greatest, but can also be funny.

Keep your sense of humor, and focus on the healthier you to come!

I just had to say thank you for having the nerve and posting this question, and to you who answered it! Misery loves company is a true true thing, I am finding! I was banded on Tuesday Dec. 20 and have had the same experience. It is ever so lovely, no? But it beats the feeling that I am so hungry I could eat the couch!! Suck it up is easier said than done, but I am sucking away... :)

That is what this forum is all about. Help and support. We are not here for medical advice, but to share our experiences.

No question should go unasked. Even if you don't want to ask it because you think it is too embarrassing...do a search, it has probably been asked and answered.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
