Today The Lap Band Comes Out

Today is the day. After complications for a few months, the band has to come out today. I have both a posterior and anterior slip, and doc says that should he even attempt repair he could only give me a 2-5% of success with it.

Kind of upset, but not terribly so, because I am down about 130 pounds in less than 18 months, and mostly due to a food plan that I am on, and not so much the band.

I am nervous after reading some of the horror stories on here about recovery, but hopeful that it will go as smoothly as placement. I am choosing not to do a revision or additional surgery, just removal.

Strangely I feel sad to say goodbye to the band, and I am thankful for the initial 40 pounds I lost with it, but tired of feeling pain and burping.

Will keep you updated.

Dan

Not so sad anymore. I have had so many complications, and am still 120+ down with dieting.

It came out this am, not nearly as bad as placement.
