In Dec 2011 i had lapband surgery but Jan 31,2012 I had a car accident which ended up saving my life because although I totaled mt brand new car, xrays to make sure I was ok showed I had a tumor which was later identified via biopsy as a reoccurence of cervical cancer which had spread to my lungs. I WAS up tp 4CCS and doing welll with my lapband but after i started chemo I had to get it emptied. I just went for my first fill in 9 months... Basically starting over again.. Has anyone else had to Start over??

I used Body by Vi Protein shakes and they were good. I also used Isopure after my surgery. I had the gas and diarehia also but I think it is because we are shoking our systems with some thing thtat it normally does not get alot of. Keep going.. it will stop.. well atleast mine did .. does not matter what you use, every thing will have some type of side effect..

I also havenot had any major weight loss and I can eat what I want. I will not wait for satiety before I stop and decide that I am going to loose weight.. I know that I need to exercise and watch what I eat and I am doing that now. This is week 6 for me so it is now time to start big time and do what i need to do. Yes, I can eat every thing too... like you can, but I have learned that in moderation, every thing is ok so I eat a bite, and that satisfies my desire to eat it. this was major surgery.. we have a goal. we have a tool and I am using it to my fullest advantage..

did you feel comfortable enough to tell him about your band??

what is your main meal consist of because I want to loose that much NOW>

perhaps you can recommend that they have two sessions, one for newbies and one for veterans.. That way maybe new people can discuss more here and now issues with each other as the other group is..

I know a girl on here who recently went out of state to have hers done is she ended up with some complications and NO one locally wanted to treat her. See if you can get the surgeon to make a co agreement with some one locally to see you in the case of emergency and for fills, ect.. It was ugly for her in Dec.. She was in pain and had to fly in pain to another state. She said she would never do that again.

I got so mad about being hungry today that I drank some mountain dew! that was a no no and I will not do it again but every one in our early stage is rebelling.. Our body just simply doe snot like how it is being treated! How dare we cut out all the good sugary foods and instead feed it grits! I am on week 5 now and tommorrow I will be on real food. I have lost 8 pounds- that is it but tell ya, I feel great.. More me, and I have lost a few inches too.. But stay postive because slow and steady is how we want it to go..

He is scared. Most men have some type of insecurity as do women. He may feel that you have plans to dump him when u get all skinny and stufff.. people do it.. Maybe u need to sit down and talk and if he does not understand that this is for your health and your self worth.. then bumppppp himm..

I was denied twice before they approved me. it is just to see how dedicated you are.. try again.

I am 38 also and I was just banded 12/20/ I cannot wait til I am 6 months out! 40 pounds in 6 months would make me happy! I am sure it is teh best decision that I have ever made for me but I am in still in that early phase so when I have something good I want to eat eat eat it.. lol luckily, I know the consequences of bad behavior.. thanks for sharin your story.

I use splenda in my tea. I swapped from M dew to tea and I have to have some kind of caffeine to make it throough my work day. I am going to try stevia tommorrow because a dr I work with said it has less calories, ect. Splenda taste better than equal and all that other stuff.

I use probiotic from gnc. I love it. It is unflavored and it has no taste really. It is a powder you can put your drink or soup or just put in straight in yyour mouth- that is what I do..

I suggest that you evaluate what you are doing to help yourself loose the weight. I see that u have joint problems so that may restrict your exercise. And how much food intake and the kind is important to evaluate. have you been for a fill? Have you talked to a dietician? some people just loose slow. I know I do too.

U want the weight to be slow and steady. not fast. The skin can adjust better and not sag when u loose slow..

I want to hear all about the problems that other people have and how they work the problem out but I am with yall, I do not like the negative BEEE-OTCH that post negative crap every where. She does not want to see people happy because she herself is not happy.. Its sad,, but we know we have to keep up our own momentum and carry on... Banded 12/20 and can not wait for my first fill on 2/1/12/ I have had no problems thus far except for bandster hell.. But hell got me a chocolate carmel oreo sundae today and it was heaven in hell!!

chicken roast pork. and spaghtti with meatballs is all I have had with meat so far..dont wanna over do it too soon.

The surgeon told me upfront that it does not work for some people. Some people have issues. But I can tell you that if it did not work and the research was not done ahead of time, then insurance companies would not be paying for the lapband procedure. Just my hospital bill was 17G not to mention the surgeon.. People that it does not work for will advocate for other procedures as a precautionary just as we that are happy with the band will advocate for it.. Free speech yall.

One thing that I am reading alot of is that some December bandsters have unrealistic expectations of what they should be loosing in a one month time. It needs to come off slow yall. If you loose to fast, you are going to have a lot more excess skin to contend with. Dont kill yourself, Dont push your self to far.. It will happen. Just follow the program..

I have over ate one time. I had some chinese and it was SOO good I just wanted a few more bites. I went over board and got sick and puked it back up.. I am not suppose to be eatting that kind of stuff anyways but I was trying to eat the rice. I am on mushies right now. I bought me a blender and whatever my family is eatting for dinner, I eat. I mush it was potatoes in the blender. Tonight we had roast pork and garlic grilled butter potatoes. Add a little milk and butter after blending to puree and it is lapband mush!

I dont measure. I stop eatting at the first sign my belly says stop.

I also have thyroid issues and my dr has not indicated any concerns regarding me not being able to loose my weight because of it. You have done GREAT// Alot better than me.

I was/ am the same way. I can tolerate but only in small portions. I was banded 12/20. When you start getting fills, u will hit miserable mark when u over eat or eat some thing u r not suppose to.

I am so happy that so many people were banded and are BANDING together to conquer this weight epidemic that we are all in TOGETHER. I have learned so much from every one and this thread and really made me feel sooo Ummmmm Normal... lol. I have not lost alot but I can tell that the inches are disappearing. I am going for a late post op appt with my surgeron on Monday. I am hoping to talk him into a small fill. It will only be 4 weeks out though instead of 6. Has any one managed to get fills before the 6 weeks post op?? I am eatting less, for sure.. But I do not have that full feeling so I want food more. I have had such a good outcome so far though. NO stomach pain, no nausea, no vomiting.. Every thing has really been going well... I am just wanting to wake up and it all be gone.. I can already pull my pants down to pee without unbuttoning them.. That is cool..lol. Now, I just wanna outgrow all my pants so that I will have to go shopping. I have to wear business dress attire so I want to loose it fast so I can buy the right size not one size a month.. I know, I know, slow and steady but when you have been big for so long, you tend to want to rush.... So tell me again,, how are yall doing now..
