My origanal surgery date was 8/24 but as an unemployed teacher I was offered a job 5 days before and accepted although bitter sweet. My new surgery date is 12/21 and I wish it was sooner but atleast I will have 14 days over Christmas Break to rest and heal. I am still nervous and having so much time to wait yet again I read some of the horror stories people post and get second thoughts. However I know I will be a happier and healthier me in the long run. Anyone else in the same boat? Having the support system of others has really helped me through.

I am planning for December 16th for Surgery. I have lost 20 lbs pre-op and am just waiting for the Insurance co. to do their part. If I do get that date of December 12th, I will have gone 7-1/2 months from beginning to surgery of this pre-op process. Too long for sure to have to wait. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they won't find anything wrong with my paperwork and deny my request.

Good luck, it sounds like you have had a long journey. I only had to do 3 months and that was tough, however my surgery got pushed to December 21st because I got a job 4 days before I was going to have surgery. It will all be worth it in the end. I will say a prayer that everything goes through with no problem for you.

I work in the legal field, while working part-time as an actor. Finding the time to do this was tough with the recovery period. My surgery is December 20, so I can enjoy Thanksgiving and then off to the preparation.

I can also work from home as we settle into the holiday and then off to the weight loss.

Yay! I have a confirmed surgery date of Wed, 21 Dec 2011!!!! It's for real now and it feels a wee bit surreal. I'm loving this journey and I'm glad we're all on it together.

APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my phone call this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. I'm looking at a December 16th surgery date. WOW! things to be thankful for today!!!

I am scheduled for 12-16, Just had my EGD done and all went well.

Just got my surgery date today! It will be December 14th! SOO excited!

I'm so encouraged that all of you are getting your approvals so fast. My 6th appt is Nov 14 and I already set my tentative date for Dec. 21.. I just hope everything goes through too! I'm so glad that our group is so positive, it makes such a huge difference.

My reasons for getting lap band

-to live the active lifestyle that I love

-to have kids

-to live the rest of my life free from food addiction

-to look in the mirror and know I look hot

-to dance wildly without embarrassment

-to feel sexy

-to stand in front of people and not worry that they are thinking how huge I am

-to do anything I want without my weight as a barrier!

Wow a lot of appointments coming up. That will help the the Month and a half go fast. Keep busy is my new motto.

I'm so excited to see so many approvals! We'll be submitting for approval after my appointment on 11/11. I'm crossing my fingers for a quick approval too!

have you guys read all the negative posts lately. anyone second guessing this. i spoke to my gastro doctor about all the negative posts lately and he said that if i stay away from creamed Soups, ice cream shakes and high calorie liquid food that will just pass through the band, i will be fine. lately i was thinking about not coming on the forum anymore because so many posts are about the negative and people saying they are planning to take out the band, but i only try to read the positive posts. anyone noticed all the negatives and is it affecting you?

I'm a little late to the party here but I have enough experience to realize that most people having success are NOT going to come here and post. The people having issues are going to come here looking for answers (for good reasons) but just be cautious of your decision being skewed because of posts here. That being said I have gain so much info here and my dietitian has added this place as a source of info for new potential people wanting the band.
