worst time ever (kinda gross)

Recommended Posts

So today I decided to eat some frosted mini wheats. I do not like milk so I started to eat them dry. I chewed really well but after I finished my serving (1 cup) I felt stuck. It hurt so bad. I ended up sliming, gaging and retching. After a half hour of sitting over sink sliming and trying to get myself to throw up I threw up all that I had eaten. When I could get past the pain of swallowing I did get some Diet Coke down to start PBs. Well I survived but am traumatized by the whole incedent. I guess I'l be careful what kind of dry Cereal I eat. -Tanya

wow - that doesn't sound fun!!! i'm thinking 1 cup was too much - no matter what kind of cereal - i usually go for 1/2c of Protein and then 1/2c of veggie or fruit - almost no starchy carbs - i did eat cereal one day - reg mini-wheats and could only eat a few - you should prob stay away from the frosted variety all together - too much sugar :)

Been there-done that!! It is the worse feeling ever! I can't eat pizza that has been reheated or dry- I slimed both times.

The wheat probably expanded in the stomach-stick to oatmeal, cream of wheat, yogurt (with fruit or granola sprinkles. In the morning we tend to be extra tight. Have a hot beverage (tea, coffee) to loosen thing sup before you attempt to eat.

Your body is telling you what you can and cannot eat-listen to it! If it can't go down a funnel you either didn't chew it well or it simply is not band friendly.

Sure hope this doesn't happen to you again!

I've had the same problem trying to eat dry Fiber One's version of frosted mini wheats!! Both times I've gotten stuck after eating without milk, and one of those times I slimed once. It finally went down but man that hurts!!!

I haven't been brave enough to try cereal with milk...I've only eaten it dry as a snack, but not anymore!!!

Fiber One Caramel Delight tastes good and goes down easy as a dry cereal.

OMG I've done this and will never ever do it again.

Mine was one Saturday morning, my daughter had a swimming lesson, we were running late (slept in), I just grabbed a similar thing, little weetbix bites which are like little pillows and ate about six of them in the car on the way. When we got to swimming, she got in the pool, DH and I settled to watch and DH bought me a coffee.

Well! That coffee hit the dry Cereal and it all swelled up and before I knew it, I was spending the entire half hour lesson bent over the toilet, with little kids going "what is wrong with that lady mummy?" And mummy saying "she's just pregnant darling". Lol. Thank goodness it was only a five minute drive home, so I could get to my own bathroom and continue throwing up for another 2 hours.

for the same reason, although i can eat bread quite easily, I never ever ever eat it with soup!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
