ready for my first fill

Recommended Posts

I am 10 days out and I am ready for my first fill. I stay hungry. I have limited myself to smaller portions and I am watching what I eat, but I wake up in the middle of the night hungry and I get hungry faster after I eat. I have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I can swallow fine and have had no issues with getting stuck. I have a follow up apt with my Dr on Wed, will he do an early fill????

I wouldn't think so but every surgeon is different. Mine waits six weeks.

I have to wait for 6weeks to get my first fill, I even called and asked if I could get it on 5 weeks and they said no. So keep your chin upi you can do this! Try to think about something else or have a Protein Drink. I mixed banana baby food, and 1 tablespoon of Peanut Butter to a shake , it makes you a lot fuller and has a different taste which is nice for a change!

Best wishes!

OMG...I just asked pretty much the same question..exact same situation as you...maybe I should read on and find the answer.

I'm 12 days post-op. I'm still on gull liquids for 9 more days. My doctor says no fills until I'm on solids because then he can determine how hungry I really am. Thankfully I get full on about a cup of Soup... but I don't stay full for too long. Maybe it will get better when you start eating solids.

Sorry you're so hungry! I know what you mean though... My hunger wakes me up in the middle of the night too. It's intense.

I felt the same way as you did at that point in time, but since I have been on solids, I realized that I do not need the fill. I have been eating solids for 3 weeks now. I went to the doctor for my first fill appt and no fill because I was losing and was not hungry. I have my second fill appt next week and think I wont be getting it because I am still losing and not hungry. My point is...once you can eat solid foods, the hunger pains may go away for you. They did for me, but we are all different!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
