Trouble Eating After Fill

Recommended Posts

I just got my 3rd fill last Wednesday. I've been having trouble eating everything except mashed potatoes, popcicles and crackers since then. I keep thinking I need to wait it out to make sure it's not just inflammation or stress, before I go in to have Fluid taken out. Last time I had trouble eating for about 3 days or so, then I was fine. Does anyone else have this problem after fills? How long does it last with you? The good thing out of this is that I've lost 7lbs just since Wednesday.

On the third day I am to go back to solids. I think you are too full. Go back and have a slight unfill. There are a lot of people on this site who got their bands to full but liked the weight loss and kept it that way. Only problem is that it has led to the band slipping and having to be removed!

If you are not even able to keep down fluids go see your doc. right away. If fluids are staying down you might wait another day or 2. Your right it could be swelling. Don't wait too long, or your just suffering needlessly. I have been there, done that. When I finally did go in for an unfill I had decent restriction for a little while. Hope you feel better soon.

I am experiencing the exact same thing as you right now! Last Friday my doc gave me a .5cc fill, since then I have litterally ONLY been able to drink fluids, and I am lucky to keep even that down. I have been pbing often if I take too big of a drink, so I have only been sipping and cold/warm fluids do not make any difference for me. I too have lost 7 lbs because of it. Yes, its nice to be down that much so quickly, but I cannot live on broths so I am going in tomorrow for a slight unfill.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
