Can't Believe I'm gaining it back

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, been a while since I checked in. I haven't been doing so great and really need motivation/advice. I have failed my band. Not the other way around. I was doing great and up to a 80 pound loss well then dh and I received custody of my niece and nephew. Well after 10 months of court and junk the kids are now in custody of their Grandmother. Well about a month before all of this ended in court I found myself putting on a lil weight here and there. I had to go a few weeks ago and have some fill removed due to severe reflux(brought on by this stress). As of today I have officially gained back 29 of the pounds I had lost. I am so discouraged and disgusted. I am a self pay so it makes it that much more of a kick in my pants. Guess I just needed to put it out there to those of you who understand and ask for your help to get back on track. I just feel hopeless and out of control with my eating- just seems like all of a sudden. Thanks so much guys!!

Girl you can get on top of this -it's still very managable! Okay so you have gained...now is the time to take control before it becomes anymore. You can lose that 29 pounds-absolutely!! You know what you need to do because you have done it before! Don't let the 29 pounds become 39 pounds and so on. Take charge of it now while it's still very controlable!

Get your reflux under conrtol and get your fill. Exercise is a great stress reliever and it make you feel good mentally.

2 months from now you can write that you had a set back but you lost the weight or you can say you are deeper in a hole-the choice is really yours. Today is the day-you don't have to be perfect with this journey but you must always strive to move forward.

Good luck to you-you got this girl!

Don't beat yourself up like that. Life has its ups and downs. We all go thru periods of stress where we just eat whateve is in front of us. You know what you did wrong. You still had a great weight loss and even with the gain you are still down by about 50 lbs. That is amazing. Just get back on track and focus on yourself........you will drop the extra 20 lbs in no time. Good Luck CAT

I am so sorry that happened to you. Please do not feel discouraged nor disgusted. Start over today. Pretend that today is the first day after you were banded. Remember that excited feeling? I am sure you can lose those 29 pounds again. All of us are rooting for you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
