4 days out. hunger sneaks up on me.

Recommended Posts

I just had my surgery last Thursday and I'm finding I get hungry about every 3 hours. The thing is though, that by the time I realize I'm hungry, it's more like I'm starving. Maybe I should set a timer to remind myself to eat about every 2 hours and 45 min. It doesn't take much to fill me up, but hunger is a beast lol.

i'm having the same problem! my surgery was on july 28th. my hunger pains have been waking me up everynight also. but i've found that i'm soooo over the liquid diet. i cannot find anything that is satisfying to me. today was a bad day for me, emotionally. how are you doing with the liquid diet?

liquid diet sucks for me. Have found applesauce works well though. Flows through like liquids but a lot more satisfying. I've even had to thoroughly chew some ramen noodles to satisfy the beast a couple of times lol.

Totally agree. One week out and I am so tired of the liquid diet. Really getting hard to stick to this. Only consuming maybe 400 - 500 calories a day and really not losing too much. Getting discouraged......after all I am on this starvation diet!!!! What will happen when I start eating.CAT

I also had surgery on the 28th.... feeling the same way.... starving. I've already gone through "why did I do this to myself" stage. Watching my daughter eat cheezits is killing me.

Understand the hunger pangs...today is my 10th day being banded and liquids can be a pain...

Have been reading this forum since being banded and realize that every Doctor is different when it comes to the does and don'ts. If you can drink it thru a straw you can have it is my Dr's mantra...so I get creative...it's

like trying a new recipe...puree your favorite Soups...thin down mashed potatoes with some broth...anything

different helps soothe those hunger pangs!!

I also now know that this is the ultimate diet challenge....if I want to cheat...I will pay AND I paid way too

much to mess this up!

Stay busy...do little things like clean out that junk drawer (we all have one)...reorganize the closet...in

other words...keep your mind off of your hunger!!

Good luck to all biggrin.gif

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
