I am new to this site so I can't navigate very well. I go for preop visit Friday. Am nervous...I have been to support groups and they seem to frown on Lap band surgery.

Yea I got alot of that too, horror stories they had, you know in this world you could become the queen of england and some one would harp how dangerous that is. you go with your faith your heart and ask all the questions to clear any doubts and talk to your drs, The forums are great for others views and experiences, but they are not you. I walk alone, in my journey, but when I am alone I know God is with me. Good luck

best wishes on your consult. in the end this decision is purely about you. you will hear stories that say the lap band is great and some that say the opposite. in the end do your research!!! it has been the best decision i have made, and of course it's not easy, but nothing worth having is. this site will give you the good, bad and ugly plus a lot of support. please feel free to friend me and PM me with any questions. i was banded a little ove 2months ago.
