I'm two weeks out and I've started to eat pureed food and it seems like I'm hungry all the time. Tonight I had some pepperoni and half hour later some grilled pork chop. My Dr said I should only eat 3- 4 T but it just does not feel like I'm full.I'm worried I'm stretching my stomach.but hoping it's just that I have no restriction.

pureed peperoni? That doesn't sound very appetizing.

pureed foods will go through relatively easily. Most people don't feel much restriction until they start getting fills. Before I started getting fills, I could eat pretty much the same amounts as before banding.

Stretching the pouch is not an easy thing to do.

There will be plenty of episodes of pain in order to potentially stretch your pouch. My physician's assistant said that it is unlikely for the pouch to be stretched, but band slippage is more of a possibility if you eat too much.

Try eating 1/4-1/3 cup of food instead of just 3-4T.. it may make you feel not so hungry.

Again, refer back to your doctor of course and make sure that's okay !

try to find more filling foods that may stick with you. And I would definately eat about 1/2 cup atleast of food! My surgeon told me to only eat about 4T andmake sure it goes down before I continue to eat this food. I ate things like scambled eggs, and thick Protein shakes* almond milk Protein Powder and Jello fat free sugar free pudding mix! its thick and it stays with you a little longer than greasy or fatty foods. Before I got restriction I could definatley eat anything and as much as I wanted of it! I had to stop myself alot of times so I didnt over eat. And as people before me said. Its hard to stretch your pouch esp when you dont have restriction. What you may have now is just mild swelling still.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
