I know, right? :) This morning I was thinking about mashed potatoes and i don't even really like them! LOL The longer you can let the tummy heal, the better...but dang. Applesauce only goes so far!! LOL

Glad you liked it. Nothing fancy, but I think it helps to see pictures from others. I'm 5 days postop and feeling good. I'm a total wuss, and I didn't shead a tear. Mostly it was discomfort, but little "pain." Best Wishes :)

I also feel like a bus (or train) hit me. I am worried because today is day 5 (was banded the 30th) and I definitely don't feel anywhere close to 100%. My port area is still really sore and I can't stomach the Protein Shakes. I am feeling really weak but I am pretty sure I haven't had enough fluids or Protein. Any one else struggling?

I'm feeling tons better today. Still taking the gas x tablets but very minimal pain meds. I'm walking around more and feel like cleaning. But I'm going to lay off the cleaning part, lol and take advantage of the help I'm receiving right now. Oatmeal sounds wonderful Stan! Tomorrow is day 6 so I can start oatmeal..we'll see how that goes. I'm glad to see the July 1st bandsters posting again. Has anyone heard from Kevin? Wasn't he suppose to have his surgery on the 1st too?

My surgery was the 1st, and I still feel like I have a wet Nerf ball stuck up the back of my throat. But hey, we're only a few days post-op. I'm sure that the bloated, unsettled feelings will get better. I'm surviving on fruit juice, Water and applesauce. Close to zero Protein. Buuuuut - once I can start mushies, I will be fine. Right now I'm just happy that I'm peeing, pooping and burping less. I don't drink 64 of Water, but I drink enough that I'm still alive. It can be kind of sad to read what others are eating/drinking, but really, you can only do what you own body can handle. For me, it is pretty limited right now.

I LOVE THIS GROUP!!!! I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have other experiences to read about. :Banane34:

Don't sweat it you're right where you need to be. Everyone's body is different and everyone has different nutrioniost/surgeons. We can only do what is right for OUR body. So with that being sad I'm so happy to have this group in my life too!!! Only you all know what it is like from eating whatever we want when we want to totally just surviving on Water and jello! lol I love it!!!

I spent most of the day obsessing over food. food I missed, food I wanted to sneak, but I didn't :) The closest I came was the teeniest drop of BBQ Sauce on the tip of my finger....GOD THAT WAS GOOD. Just a change in taste lifted my spirits.

I looked at the nutrition area on this board and started picking out some recipes to try out. Pasta-less lasagna, how cool. I can make it through the liquids.....Friday comes mushies.....and now I'm not so scared anymore!! I'm going to have to try some stuff that I think sounds completely nasty, but having the ability to add a small amount of cheese makes me happy. If you're feeling down about this liquid stuff....try looking to the future and planning what to buy....it helped me!

i'm looking forward to the mushies stage too :) the weird stomach-y feeling is getting less and less...i guess it was just being gas-y because i do feel it even when i don't drink anything...incisions are soooooo much better today. anyone having issues with the incisions feeling itchy?

My incisions are alittle itchy but I think that means that they are healing. I woke up at 1:30 and had to heat up a cup of broth. I'm beginning to feel hungry......it worries me alittle since I have to wait until next Monday to have my mushies. I keep teeling myself that I can do this!!

Is gas pain getting to anyone else?

Yep, my incisions are itchy (well, the steri-strips anyway. I don't think there's a thing in the world we can do about it though ( The gas is getting better each day...and yes, just like a broken record, walking and heat do help. I'm finding that Gas-X chewables don't really make a difference anymore. I'm wondering if it is more of the hernia repair issue than gas? Just don't know. All I know is that the more I sit, the more intense it gets.

OK Anyone else going crazy not eating? I can't wait to have something.....I feel fuzzy headed, I suppose since I haven't had anything to eat since last Thursday. I'm going to switch to more gatorade today than Water. I need some calories I think.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
