Lap Band on Tuesday June 28th

I thought I would introduce myself. I have been looking at the lap band for a few years now. I have been overweight my entire life. Im 31 year old male who lives in the Houston area. I truly feel like i am ready for a change. Im tired of going places and wondering if im going to fit in the chair or booth or whatever. Its just so annoying. I weighed 355 when i went to see the doctor for the consultation. I thought i weighed around 330 and for the longest time i was ok with that. I enjoyed eating and really enjoyed eating. Im tired of having to go to the Fat store to buy my clothes.(thats what i call Casual Male) My doc made me go on a 1 week 1200 calorie diet, then followed by 3 weeks of optifast, I have lost 25 pounds. Its amazing how much better I feel with just losing 25 pounds. I am having surgery on Tuesday and am so excited.

Well i didnt sleep much last night, i was too nervous. I have never had any type of surgery before. I got to the surgery center at 06:30 this morning and i went into to preop at about 0730 and i was leaving the hospital at about 11;30. Doc said I did great, I am now officially banded. I took a nap when i got home and I just woke up. I thought I would be in more pain than I am. However the doc gave me some Lortab elixir and some Zofran, so maybe the combination of the 2 of those is doing me good. Hope everyone has a great day!

congrats! i can't wait until i am there. :) i wish you all the luck. im also in the houston area and i think my biggest question is, " how much cooler will texas be when im not fat?" lmao

Congrats driso! Sounds like everything went smoothly!

Meanwhile, I'm supposed to be at the surgery center in 7 hrs and I'm still wide awake. Lol!

Can't wait to be on the other side.
