Hi everyone, I know I haven't been very active but I promised myself that I would come back after a year and post my update. I remember looking at threads before my surgery of pictures of success and always imagine what it would be like. It seemed so far and unreachable BUT now I can be one of those stories!! I had my band placed in June 29 2011, I was at my all time heaviest of 279 lbs and just miserable. I was actually my surgeon's worst nightmare because I ended up getting pregnant just a month after getting the band!!! After having sex just once the whole month!! I had no fills during my uncomplicated pregnancy and delivered my son on April 4,2012. Got my first fill in May and the second this month. I am loving this band. It has totally changed my life for the better. I'm at 201 lbs today and a work in progress but this is the first time ever that I just know I will make it to my goal weight one day!! Ha! Its like reading my story! I was banded on 6/29/11 & was pregnant before my first fill. I had my baby on 4/4/12 & got my very first fill on 5/9/12. I also live in Tx and find the heat hard to deal with when wanting to work out. Its also hard to switch gears from being pregnant and focusing on a baby then going back on the band journey.

I was one month post op & got pregnant from that one time. I had fertility issues in the past so that was a surprise. Do it when you are ready but remember to use protection. Lol

I went thru all the fancy prenatal samples and found the walgreens generic to go down best. Go figure.

Jealousy is an ugly monster. Next time just let her rude comments hang in the air for all others to reflect on what a jerk she is.

I've lost 40 lbs in less than 3 mths and I'm unfilled & pregnant. I have been eating 1800-2000 calories a day per my Ob instruction and still the weight continues to go down.

I'm so very sorry for your loss Roz. I hoped you are blessed again quickly when you are ready.

I'm not going to lie. I missed my pal food for the first 2wks and even had a good cry over the loss of "friendship". Once you move past that then you feel better and appreciate the small amounts you can eat. Good luck!

Hey rozie, I'm due one day after you! 4/18/12 Its so weird switching gears from losing weight to being pregnant. I wish you a healthy pregnancy!

I'm 6 weeks post op as of yesterday, have lost 28 lbs total and today just for 'kicks & giggles' I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!! We only had sex once since surgery, and I have always had fertility problems. I used ovulation sticks, charting, daily temps for 2 yrs to get pregnant with my daughter and now i'm going to have an Ooops baby! Wow, I would have never guessed this would happen so quickly. I don't even have any fills in my band yet. Is it too selfish to want to continue losing weight while being preggo?? Its alot to take in!!

That's a pretty bold diagnosis for your doctor to assume without any tangible symptoms. Good luck finding a new doctor

I get hungry & my mouth waters thinking about eating during PMS. I hate it; thankfully, I still can't eat much, but last weekend I did put away about 1800 calories for the day and felt guilty about it. Ironically, that used to be a 'not-so-bad-day' before being banded.

I would do it again in a heartbeat! I have already prevented full blown diabetes and my cholesterol levels are normal. If I can live a little bit longer on this earth with my kids then it was all worth it!

I agree with CindyC. It was probably the celebrex that messed things up. Good luck on your surgery.

Wow! There was probably too little preggo hormones in your urine to test positive pre-op. Congratulations!! I wish you an uneventful pregnancy. It truely is a blessing!
