  1. I am just curious. I was banded on June 28th and the food list i have from my nutritionist says that I cant have ground beef until 8 weeks after surgery. I am just curious how soon after surgery some of you other people were able to eat ground beef.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I had already started sipping some tea. All is well now. I often wonder about liquids and stretching the pouch. Do you think its possible to drink too much and stretch your pouch?
  3. I had surgery on June 28th, the first few days were hell, but i have started to feel alot better. The only pain i have now is where the port is. This evening for dinner i ate a little bit of rice. I can feel some of it stuck in my throat. What should i do? Do you think i caused any damage?
  4. Thanks for all the well wishes guys, yall are the best. This is truly what this forum is all about.
  5. I feel the same way as you do, i have been in a great deal of pain since leaving the hospital. I took some of the liquid lortab but i dont think it helped that much. Heres to hoping we both start to feel better real soon! Actually today hasnt been that bad, its just standing up, then sitting down that hurts like hell.
  6. Good luck tommorow ladies! I had my surgery this morning and it wasnt too bad at all. I have alot of gas pain and also my stomach is really sore. Im not hungry at all, I have just been sipping on water all day long.
  7. Yes i know exactly what your talking about. I had surgery this morning and my mouth feels like I have a big piece of cotton in there to suck of all of the saliva. Well I dont! Ha Ha. I am sipping on Water as we speak but it doesnt seem to help much, hope you get to feeling better. Keep me posted.
  8. Well i didnt sleep much last night, i was too nervous. I have never had any type of surgery before. I got to the surgery center at 06:30 this morning and i went into to preop at about 0730 and i was leaving the hospital at about 11;30. Doc said I did great, I am now officially banded. I took a nap when i got home and I just woke up. I thought I would be in more pain than I am. However the doc gave me some Lortab elixir and some Zofran, so maybe the combination of the 2 of those is doing me good. Hope everyone has a great day!
  9. I am being banded tommorow as well. I have to be at the surgery center in 6 hours and i cant sleep to save my life.
  10. Thanks for the well wishes, I have to be at the surgery center at 6:30 in the morning. I am not even tired, I dont think im going to be able to sleep. I will let everyone know when i get out.
  11. Yeah get used to the Protein Shakes. Ive been on Optifast for 3 weeks now and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. My nutritionist said the reason for that is because my body is in ketosis. In about 12 hours I will be in surgery and im so excited.

  13. I am also being banded on June 28th, what are you ladies having to do the day before the surgery? Im still on optifast, just cant eat anything after midnight the night before. Im very excited!
  14. Best of luck in your journey as well
  15. I thought I would introduce myself. I have been looking at the lap band for a few years now. I have been overweight my entire life. Im 31 year old male who lives in the Houston area. I truly feel like i am ready for a change. Im tired of going places and wondering if im going to fit in the chair or booth or whatever. Its just so annoying. I weighed 355 when i went to see the doctor for the consultation. I thought i weighed around 330 and for the longest time i was ok with that. I enjoyed eating and really enjoyed eating. Im tired of having to go to the Fat store to buy my clothes.(thats what i call Casual Male) My doc made me go on a 1 week 1200 calorie diet, then followed by 3 weeks of optifast, I have lost 25 pounds. Its amazing how much better I feel with just losing 25 pounds. I am having surgery on Tuesday and am so excited.
