So I'm just over 4 weeks into my banding and my weight lose has stalled at about 18lbs. But after reading through the rest of the posts about this, I realized that this is pretty normal and I should pay attention to my food intake rather than the scale for a while. I have to let my body adjust and get use to everything for a little bit. So, while I'm letting my body adjust to everything, I want to start changing up my workout routine, because it quite honestly is becoming a little routine and it's getting boring.

Currently I'm switching between the Elliptical and my Stepper for about an hour. When I'm not doing that, I work out with my Wii (just bought a Wii Fit, can't wait to get it!).

So I wanted to find out what everyone else is doing just to see what I can incorporate. Where I live, going outside for a walk isn't much of a workout, so while I still do that, I would like to do a little more than that.

Any ideas would be appreciated! You all have been so helpful with this whole journey!

Lifting weights would be great. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism. How about the treadmill and/or the bike. Since your already doing machines I assume you belong to a gym. You could think about a personal trainer for weights. It's pricey but so worth it. I love mine. It really keeps me accountable and motivated. She makes sure I am doing the proper form and knows when to increase the weight. Keep up the good work, you are doing great.

Here's another vote for lifting weights, it helps keep your skin taut too; also my big thing that I love is yoga! I have lost 60 pounds since Christmas, and 40 since starting my pre-op diet, and I owe a lot of it to yoga. It's low impact, you can modify the moves for your body, and it really does burn calories. I love it!!! There are actually videos out there for larger people as well.

I understand about not being able to get a good workout from walking where you live. I live in an area that's mostly farmland, and everything is flat. There are mountains nearby, but not really close enough just for a morning walk. I do walk 2 miles a day though, but I have to walk really fast to get my heart rate up.

Oh of course Belly Dancing!! I am going to be starting that pretty soon. I can't wait. I have a lot of friends who are in the local belly dance guild, and I've wanted to start learning for a long time. Good suggestion!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
