I stayed for one night and I am glad that I did. My wife Ann stayed with me and that made it much better. I think to have some time to recover and be monitered is a good thing.

I was an outpatient and I like that. I would rather recover in the comfort of my own home. I was in at 6:15a and was home by 1:30p.

Overnight, surgery Monday, 7:30AM, checkout Tuesday, AM, right after barium swallow test. I wish I'd been discharged the same day, those leg balloons were a pain in the ash, everytime I wanted to get up I had to unshackle myself.

Mine and hubby's were both done as outpatient.
