Any July 2011 Bandsters?

Recommended Posts

Getting banded on FRIDAY! So excited -- more excited than scared, actually! I'm on my liquid diet, and though I've cheated a few times :X, I'm pretty positive everything will go smoothly. I quit smoking in December 2010 because my surgeon asked me too but I'd suuuuuuure love a few right now!

Good Luck to everyone and I hope to see some progress pictures, I'm sure I will post some too. Hugs.

On the other side now! Everything went smoothly. Band is in place and had a hernia repair also. My incisions barely hurt. I do feel like I've don 10,000 sit ups and the gas pain is pretty intense right now. I took some gas-x and I'm counting down he minutes until I an have some pain meds again. In the mean time I'm laying with a heating bad to my upper back to help calms the nerves for the gas pain. An added feature of my heating pad that helps is that I .have a vibrating heating pad. The vibrations help take the edge off of the intest.

I'm officially banded! :D Everything went amazingly well - I can't believe how smoothly it all went! At home now. Very sore and have some gas pain, but no nausea, Thank God... It sounds like if I can just make it through the next 2 days or so, the worst will be over. Looking forward to this brand new chapter in my lfe!

I am being banded this monday July 25th. Very excited yet very nervous. Been working on this whole process since Feb of this year, but have been contemplating the band for quite some time. Good luck to everyone!

Welcome Scott, and so glad to hear from the others recently banded that are checking in as OK!

I'm headed to a support group that my surgeon's medical practice holds every month for lap band patients, it's pretty awesome. Does anyone else do those?

Tomorrow just has one person getting banded, Carmen16!

Hi everyone,

Just got banded yesterday.. Wow.. not bad at all. Today, my port site is sooooreeee.. hard to get up and down and can't really find a comfortable chair. I hadn't expected to have pain in that port site .. but it's only when I get up ..

Drinking 6 oz every hour and recording it...

Hubby has all 3 cups lined up for me to drink.... What a guy!

I hope eveyone is doing well. I know when this pain and gas goes away, it will be so great.. Can't wait for that day! Thinking about you all..

till tomorow...

Hi Everyone!

My name is Lori. I'm also being banded on July 25th. I am very nervous about surgery, which has caused a yo-yo effect from day to day. Today, I have just decided to put up a stop sign in regards to fear of the unknown and move forward.

I want to say thank you to everyone, it is your posts that have helped me to move forward.

Btw....My surgery pre-testing is tomorrow!!!

Good luck to all!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
