hi everyone~my first post here. That said, I was banded this past Thursday, May 12th. Felt fine in the hospital. Felt fine yesterday, but slept a lot.

Today I feel like I was hit by a truck. Sore all over...but most painful is neck pain on the left side of my neck down into my shoulder. Is this the shoulder gas pain

I have read about? OMG, it's like the worst crick in my neck ever...it's killing me! I have been walking, spacing my liquids and mushie food. I don't have a heating pad.

What else can I do? how long does it last? I have a high tolerance for pain, but this really hurts!

Someone here said to fill an athletic sock with uncooked

Rice and put it in the microwave to heat. It's like a heating pad and it stays warm a long time. Best wishes!

you took the word right out of my mouth I was also banded on May 12th and woke up with the worst neck pain all OVER seriously it almost competes with the amount of gas that I am suffering.. I have no shoulder pain just the neck and gas :( sucks cause once I think it is letting up it comes right back

I just had surgery May 10th to reposition my port because it flipped :( It wasn't all that horrible it was the same procedure as the actual banding but only dealing with the port. And my neck was extremely SORE & STIFF for like 3 days!! It was probably from the breathing tube they put down your throat that's really all I can think of...well I hope u feel better soon!!

I had the same pain it was the day after my surgery. I felt like my surgeon threw me around the operating room, it was so bad the morphine wasn't even helping. I just slept it off and I felt much better the next day!

Hope you're feeling better. My surgery was May 11 and I had that pain really bad the first two days and it seems to just be towards my collar bone now. But it's really easing up.. I was told from the doctors office that its normal and from the gas from the surgery. Heat and walking around was all that seemed to help me.

Hi:

A very hot shower may help with this pain. As hot as you can stand it and have the Water hit your left shoulder. Worked for me.

Best wishes to you to be rid of the pain.

Sue

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
