I have been with my husband for 17 years (married for 4) and have never burped in front of him that he has noticed (yes, I can do it quitely so he doesn't know). But now...oh my goodness, these things develop inside of me and I don't know where they come from. Is this normal for us bandsters? I try to control them and they just rumble for 2 minutes...it's funny. My husband actually laughed at me the other day because I was trying to control it and keep it quite and he still heard me....he said he didn't know I could make sounds like that. I also get hiccups all the time....I do not drink from a straw. Maybe because I have no restriction and I'm able to still drink (not sip) is my problem?

I notice right before I get full I get the hiccups. Burping is much different now. Its funny you controlled it for so long, now be free.

Oh and I do have restriction.

It turns out to be perfectly normal for me. The hiccups I think in my case are due to having a hiatal hernia repaired (or at least that is my theory). The burps, well even though you don't have restriction, the band has narrowed a passage way, so it takes longer for the burp to come up, and yeah, can be noisey. Part of it can be due to drinking liquids, and then they suddenly drop to the lower stomach, displacing air. I wouldn't worry about it. I have been banded over 4 months, have had three fills and have never sipped my Water.< /p>

It's completely normal. I get the hiccups anytime I'm getting full. Post op I think my husband was shocked to hear me burp so often

I asked one of the PAs at the aftercare center where I get my fills and she said it was because I was eating too fast. I know that I wasn't, so I just brushed her off as she told me some other things I didn't appreciate. I like the displacing of air explanation the above poster mentioned. This sounds about right because I burp the most when I'm drinking. Burping is definately normal and so is farting (hope you haven't had any trouble with that like I have).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
