Looking for a buddy or mentor :)

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'd like a buddy or mentor to join me on my journey. Someone who has been through it or someone who is going through it with me at the same time. Anyone!!! :)

I'm getting banded June 20, 2011 in Houston, Texas. I start my liquid diet June 10; not looking forward to drinking my meals but if it will get me prepared and somewhat healthy before surgery, I will do my best.

Married mom (38) of 3 kids, ages 3, 8, 10, including one who has autism.

I draw inspiration from reading the posts here on LBT and hope to one day be an inspiration for others!

thanks!

kristi

I would love to add you ! I had my surgery dec.29th 2010 . I had my liquid diet during christmas and I'm not going to lie at times it did get hard and tempting especially because I love baking with my kids at christmas time and I still did it and I did a lot of smelling and I made sure I drank one of my chocolate shakes why I was baking so that helped! But I just kept telling myself its going to so well worth it in the end and it has been ! I love being banded . Good luck and maybe all of us can become buddys !

i would love to be buddies! I am a 32 year old mother of 4 (13,11,4,1). I am waiting to hear from insurance i was hoping for a may date but that's looking grim anyway the sooner the better i have been waiting for a very long time. I was 3 months into my 6 months dr. supervised weight loss program when i surprisingly got pregnant with my now 1 year old so that put it off til now ,with breastfeeding until 13 months and all i am finishing my 6 months thurs. is my final appt. but they went ahead and submitted to insurance.. so im crossing fingers it happens very soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
