Stuck & Frustrated

HELP!!

My weight is stuck and I'm frustrated! I have my fourth fill appointment in a few days and I'm guessing for another .25 cc's to go in as I'm sitting at 8.25 right now. Exercise is difficult as my son is disabled so I spend 65% of my time on him, 15% with my 15 yr old and 10% with my fiance and 10% on chores, errands, and appointments. Finding time for myself is hard and with summer coming it's gonna get harder. One difference is that my fiance will be gone for the summer for work (freeing up some time but not much). I started, in January, at 294.2 and woke up this morning at 267.7 and have been at this number for about 3 weeks! Does any one have any suggestions for me to get past this bump in the road?

Why would you think that you would never reach a plateu in weight loss with the band. If you are that much filled what are you going to do months, years from now when you have no room to put any more fills. Try increasing your calories and stop thinking about fills. You have to live with this thing the rest of your life and when you are completely full then what are you going to do when you are stuck or can eat whatever you want.

It's not that I didn't expect to reach a plateau, but I'm curious as to how i might be able to get through this to lose another

5 lbs. Even that small of a loss makes a big difference! i have a positive outlook on this, about as positive as anyone else,

and any advice on how to push past would be great!

Well, I don't know what you are eating but a lot of people advise, if your calories are below 1000 in a day to increase your calories up to 1200 - 1300. A lot of people have luck doing that. Too few calories your body tries to reserve. I know you don't have much time for exercise but If I don't exercise, I don't lose weight. Good luck!

Sometimes just mixing it up a bit with what you are eating helps. We tend to get in eating patterns where we eat the same stuff almost every day. I found that drinking an extra Protein Shake for a few days helps. Increase your Water intake. Eat something different for a few days. I also think sometimes the body just needs to take a bit of a break and then the pounds start dropping again.

Have you tried the pouch diet? You can google it. It's a 5 day diet for people with the band. I haven't tried it but I've read of others who have and were able to finally start losing again. Good luck and keep us posted. Also make sure to get in at least 64 oz of Water a day. And for exercise just try to incorporate more movement in the day and try to get you family to join in.

Don't worry, this happens to everyone during the weightloss process. When I reach a plateau, I increase my caloric intake for about a week then drop back to my normal intake. About 2 days later I see the scale moving again. Also, I have noticed that if I have a steady weightloss for 3 to 4 weeks, my body then will stop losing, but inches are still coming off. Have you checked your inches? Just because weight isn't coming off doesn't mean inches aren't.

Good luck, and don't give up!

Thank You all for the advice and I will look into the pouch diet and see what it involves! I am trying to increase

my movements as well... tomorrow is a trip to the zoo for my youngest and his class at school... a trip out of the

house would be nice and am hoping the walking and fresh air will help!

I would take measurements. Recently the scale has barely moved but I've def. lost size. Can be a nice nonscale victory.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
