Recommended Posts

Hey guys I woke to a feeling of something in my throat. Its been like this all day, i am on mushies, banded 4/13/11, everything goes down, never threw up.

Let me know if anyone has had this and if so let me know what caused it. I feel some heartburn but didnt wake up with heartburn. Thanks

Does it feel like reflux? If it continues, give your Dr. a call on Monday unless it is really bad.

I sometimes feel like something is caught in my throat when I eat too fast. But it seems like stuff shouldn't be backed up like that if you're just eating mushies. I know you're not suppose to drink when you eat but my doc told me it was ok to sip if I needed to rinse something down or if I was out and just wanted to feel like I'm having a normal meal with everyone else. So that's what I do when I get that feeling like something is in my throat. I just take a quick sip to rinse whatever it is. Not sure this is what's happening to you but in case it helps.

Hey guys following up for others who may go through this. I went to the doc did a barium absolutely nothing wrong there. This is sensitivity to 1) moving to mushies, 2) eating mushies to quickly, or 3) still swollen from surgery. I am only 2 weeks out today. It could have been a combination of all.

Anyone doc said it will pass and I am happy to say it has. All you will need to do is drink warm liquids. I did teas all day when I got back from doc and I don't feel that issue anymore.

Don't forget that they stick a tube down your throat in surgery.

A while ater my surgery, i started to get a choking feeling or something caught in my throat feeling at all times of the day. food wasn't what triggered this feeling because sometimes it would wake me up in the middle of the night 6-7hours after I ate.

I asked my doctor and he explained my throat was just sore from surgery and it would take some time. It wa finally a month post op I believe when it finally went away. Not a fun feeling.

Hope things are better.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
