Bad chicken Dinner Last night on Pre-Op Diet!

Recommended Posts

Ok have to vent! Its hard for me to cook meals while on my pre-op diet. But last night I made chicken in the oven. Didn't have like shake in bake or something like that so I decided to take some flour, garlic powder, poultry seasoning and black pepper and make my own shake and bake kind of. Well put it in the oven and let it bake the norm. Take it out and it looks ok, and smells awesome. Got the family around the table to eat. I passed my husband the corn and he whipped the bowl across the table at me and said he didn't want corn. All he could do is complain about the chicken, how it looked and he didn't like it and on and on. He said I don't expect it to taste like KFC, but should be looking better than that. I finely got so mad I whipped my plate across the table at him and left. Then he got up and was still complaining and I just decided to play the silent treatment with him, since I didn't want to say anything I can't take back. So its bedtime now and he wanted "some". Ya right! LOL Then he told me he was sorry and he is a "Good Guy". I told him I know you are a Good Guy. Then he said let me guess I will probably be making my own chicken next time? I said your right! I'm thinking of Buying KFC tonight and whipping it at him. LOL I don't know if it is me, since I am on this Pre-op diet thing. Sorry so long. Needed to vent. My husband is a great guy, most of the time. LOL

LOL I know exactly what your going thru. Mine has decided he is going to eat his portion and mine , I have been trying to cook ahead so I don't have to look at food every night.

If mine pulled that stunt he would not only be cooking it the next time but would have been wearing the corn and chicken.

I told myself to lay off him, let him eat whatever and the next time I cook and want leftovers for his lunch the next day I will pack it first and then let him think he is eating it all. lol

If my fiance did that to me, I would have told him to make his own damn chicken next time and in fact he can cook his own meals from now on!

A few chicken ideas (it's the only meat I like/eat so I try lots of fun stuff with it!) - try cooking it in

- Cook chicken in fat free italian dressing (I think I use the kraft brand) it's really good and it's juicy!

- Crush fat free croutons & garlic powder, Put chicken in egg beaters (or eggs if you want the extra cholesterol) - roll in this mix and bake with a little olive oil

- Dip chicken in A-1 (I don't eat steak...but A-1 is so good with chicken!)

Also, if you love chicken like I do and want to easily be able to make it...try the Tyson Grilled & Ready chicken in the frozen section. I get a bag of it at Wal-Mart and each piece has 110 calories with 10 calories from fat and it's actually very good! It says you can microwave it, but I usually boil it on the stove for about 5 minutes to keep it juicy. It is pre cooked so it's really quick and it's actually quite yummy! :)

Phew, it would be a bad day if my husband was to do that! I have to say, my husband could care less if I cook or not. He always tells me, he can always find something to eat. He is super good about that and will eat anything I make except Kidney Beans, he really doesn't like them at all and I love them.

It's not you. That was jerk behavior that shouldn't even merit a response from you to him. If my husband did that, I'd stick the chicken right up his....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
