MyFitnessPal.com Members

Hi Everyone,

I am a fellow lap-bander (banded October '09) and I use MyFitnessPal.com to track my foods, exercise and weight loss goals. It's a great tool. Are any of you members? It is free, if you are interested.

If you are members or become members, what do you think of becoming "buddies" on this site so we can look at what each other eats and excercise, etc. for help and tips?

Reply here or PM me if you're interested. I can give you my email address and you can look it up on Myfitnesspal.com so we can be linked.

Be well,

Renee

Is it just me or did MyFitnessPal change the five week projection calculation? My daily calorie goal is 1,000. It used to tell me what my five week projected weight would be after I completed each day's diary. But now it just keeps warning me I need 1200 calories a day and it won't do the projection. That projection was a great motivator, especially as I am approaching Onederland.

Mine didn't work right either. And I also got the warning in red that I wasn't eating enough calories. It had me set at 1310 daily calories even though my personal goal was no more than 1200. I didn't bother with the projection and just used it to calculate my calorie, protein, and sodium input. I tried not to project anyway....I thought it would just set me up for failure if I didn't meet the goal.

I actually stopped using the app quite a while ago. I know what most foods cost me now in terms of calories so I don't plug in anymore. I used to use it faithfully on a daily basis though and I absolutely feel that it was a huge help for me to be able to calculate my meals and have a really good healthy food foundation.

I never actually considered the 5 week projection as relevant. It was based on repeating that particular day's diet and exercise every day for the next five weeks to obtain the projection. My diet and exercise changed every day and subsequently, so did the projection. Plus, my weight came off slowly and never in the amount indicated by the projections anyway.
