This has been an exciting weekend. Yesterday, I decided it was time to buy a pair of jeans. I went into the dressing room with a few different sizes since I haven't bought jeans in almost a year. Well, a year ago when I bought my last pair of jeans I was in a size 26. Yesterday, size 18!!! I'm down 4 pants sizes since having my surgery in October. I was super excited.

Today, I wore the jeans along with a really cute tank top and cute cardigan over it and I have to say, for the first time in years I felt like I looked damn good! I got so many compliments from everyone, I can't remember the last time I wore pants in anything less than a size 20, it has to be at least 8 years. I guess it's nice to finally be seeing the results. It's no like I haven't been told that I look like I've lost weight, but today for the first time I could actually see how much weight I've lost. As crazy as it sounds, up until the last week or so, I really hadn't looked in the mirror and acknowledged how much weight I've lost. So far 56.5 pounds and counting!

Woohoo! Those NSV are great, aren't they? How did you keep up your old jeans, going from 26 to 18?? I know that was a great feeling. Congrats. Karen

I've been wearing a lot of stretch pants and leggings. I didn't want to spend much money on clothes while I as losing. It was such a nice surprise to fit into a pair of jeans that didn't start with a "2" as the first number.

My mom made me drag some bins of old clothes out of storage because she said my clothes were so big I looked like a baglady. When I picked up a pair of size 22 (no elastic waist), I said no way. The jeans I had on were 28 with elastic waist. Mom said put them on, and I did. It was great!

Awesome! I totally love looking for smaller clothes now. I'm down a few sizes myself and my favorite stores are now thrift stores and yard sales. I guess I am at the point where I don't care where I get my clothes. I got like two pairs of jeans and a sweater for like $2.00 last weekend. Granted, one pair of jeans and the sweater are way too small, but I got them for next winter, when I hope to be in that size. Good luck to you.

I just told my co-workers my new addiction is shopping. I am trying to stay out of the stores, but I have nothing to wear that looks decent. I am going to Las Vegas in 2 weeks so I think that is a good excuse to go shopping.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
