4th fill and super tight!

Recommended Posts

Hello :)

Yesterday I got my fourth fill. So now I have 6cc in a 10cc band. Yesterday and now today I am able to keep liquids down okay...I have only been brave enough for Protein Shakes and crystal light. This is the first fill where I have really felt restricted like this.

If I am not able to have soft foods tomorrow, should I call my doc? Or should I give it more time? I can always call the RN on call if I need to...I just don't want to cause a ruckus over the weekend for my Dr. and his nurses. That's all.

Thanks,

Libby

As long as you are tolerating fluids well, stay on them a few days then gradually add thicker things. You want to make sure any fill swelling is minimized. If you can't keep fluids down then call in for advice.

Best wishes,

Mimi

How much did they fill you on the last visit? Just curious because I'm at 5cc's and feel no restriction yet. :(

I have 5.5cc in a 10 cc band and after my last fill, it took almost 5 days before I got solid foods down. On the bright side, I lost 5lbs in a week :D. I am able to eat solids, but reallllllly slow. I decided to tuff it out, but if you are uncomfortable, call.

Good Luck!!!

Thank you all for the advice. :)

On my last fill, they did 1cc. I was surprised, because I thought they would do it in 0.5 increments after my 3rd fill. I am fine with just being able to do liquids for awhile, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't too tight and possibly causing damage.

Thanks!

Libby

I also have a 10cc band.... I had a fill 2wks ago and she added .5cc...so I have a total of 6.7cc in my 10cc band. The PA said this was close to reaching the max in that size band... I'm really tight, but I don't want her to take any out... I just need to slow down and chew better... I have thown up mulitple times in the past 2 wks... and have slimed alot. but I know it's because I was eating too fast... I think when I finally get the eating slowed down, this will be a good place for me.!!

Good Luck,

Amy

I got a fill a few months ago, and it was REALLY tight to begin with, so tight I was having problems with liquids too. What I found is that a lot of it was swelling due to the fill, and within a few days it got much better.

I'd say take it easy, and listen to your body.

Good luck!

Well, on Sunday I was barely keeping fluids down. I could feel the fluids backing up into my esophagus. Yesterday I had them take out the 1cc that they put in. In about 3 weeks we will try again, but only do 0.5cc. I don't want to cause my esophagus to dilate...that scares me.

Post fill my doctor says full liquids for 24 hours so I would not recommend having solids anyway the first day.

i AM ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM..I HAD A FILL ON WEDNESDAY IT'S NOW SUNDAY AND I CAN BARELY KEEP ANYTHING DOWN...MY THROAT IS SORE FROM THROWING UP. I THINK IT MIGHT BE JUST SWELLING BECAUSE BEFORE I GOT MY FILL I HAD ALMOST LIL RESTRICTION...HOPING THAT I DON'T NEED TO GET A UNFILL...IT'S GOING TO MAKE ME MAD CAUSE I WAS FOR SURE MY SWEET SPOT WOULD BE 6.5 NOT 5.5...MAYBE I AM WRONG...ON THE BAD SIDE STILL NOT LOSING WEIGHT.

Hey Lashonda... try to ride it out...I was that tight too... with 6.7 in a 10cc band...but it's been a few weeks now and it's getting better...You really have to watch what you eat and chew, chew, chew...Now I think I'm at my sweet spot...lost 3lbs last week. After two weeks of throwing up... I know when to stop eating before I get to that point. I hope it gets better for you...

i have never lost 2 or 3 lbs in 1 week.so i guess that means that i have never reach my sweet spot.ihave always had to exercise 1 to 2 hrs a day to lose 10 lbs in a 3 month period.

Thanks...I am now starting to realize that the band is truly doing it's job..I was thinking it all came back up due to the fact that it was too tight but I think it's just that I have always been able to eat and drink at the same time and even not have to chew 100 times...now this is forcing me to slow down, chew and not drink during my meals...I feel full long and I am really like that I feel this way even if I am a lil on the sick side..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
