how much have you paid SINCE banding?

i started thinking about how much i have spent POST banding....pretty scary....

$200 4 fills, covered by insurance, $50 each

$2,400 16 fills*, not covered by insurance $150 each

$750 fill under flouro

$1250 fill under flouro

$1400 fill under flouro (this was actually an ER unfill)

-------------------------------

6,000!!!!!!!!

holy crap. my share for surgery was 1,000.

just curious what others have paid for 'aftercare'

*i had to get a LOT of fills in the beginning because my fill was getting trapped in a pocket in the port. when i got a fill it never reached my band so i had to get several till i was over 4.0 cc and my dr would listen to me.

Everything is covered for 1 yr - of course I self paid $12,500 for surgery.

Same here BUT I recieve TWO FULL Years from Dr.Pleatman & he even has said that depending on how often I go see him he won't necessarily hold me to an exact date>I paid $12,500. Its great!

I pay $20 co-pay, fills are done under xray. I had to pay the Dr $1100 a week before the surgery and the day of surgery $300. I owe the anesthia $350 and the hospital $1700 in which I am making payments on.

Like MsButterkup, I am fortunate to work for a great company and have paid nothing.

Wow Delarla, you really got socked on the port removal & band removal! Ouch!!

I hope my doctor is reading this thread and realizes he could be a little nicer and add another year of fills, especially since I only used 1/2 of my visits the first year.

OMG I nearly fainted after DeLarla's bill! Over $100,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you going to have to file for bankruptcy?Whoops - just fainted again!

$9500 for surgery

$500 in 3 flights

$200 in two fills

$150 in hotel

$150 in misc/cabs/trolley/tips/food/parking

10,500 thus far and I don't need a fill and I have a happy band (knock on wood for now)

I have had 3 fills in 6 months, at $150 ea w/fluro...bringing me to 3.8cc in my 4cc band. Shouldn't need too much more, feel I am at my sweet spot.

Bell

All my fills are free for life. I was banded in Monterrey and all the fill are done with fluoro. My only cost is $300 for airfair and they even put me up in the hospital hotel and transport me to and from the airport.

$7400 - surgery

$1000 - airfare

$300 - 3 fills under palpation at $100 a pop

$8700 - TOTAL THUS FAR - ALL SELF PAY

so far a healthy band - knock on wood!
