My pain was minimal, recovery was swift and I was back to mostly normal stuff within 5 days. I don't have PCOS though. My anxiety postOp maximized around day 3 but I recovered rapidly when other Bandsters here pointed out each day gets better and better. Now 6+ years postOp, my very worst day has been far better than my best day of the 10 years preOp. In the end, it is our own fears and anxieties that limit stepping out into the brave new world that is at our feet every day. In my preOp days of Morbid Obesity, I was unable to see beyond my own phobias, and they imprisoned me far too long. Cheers in your journey.

As for the pain, it seems everyone is different. I was off the pain meds by day 3. The first day was the worst (obviously). After day 3 I was still sore when getting out of bed and such, but it was minimal. I went out on day 4, I did start to feel a tiny bit nauseaus after a few hours. By day 5 I was getting bored at home and I went back to work on day 7. Even though I had to dig my car out from under over a foot of snow

I had no problems but, I followed the doctors orders to a T. I have a friend who was banded about 2 years ago and she gave me a lot of advice that I followed. Don't push past what foods you are suppose to be eating. Also, i have discovered that the port has to settle in. I am 31/2 months post surgery and still get occasional tingles or a pulling feeling. I asked my doc and he said that it is just the scar tissue forming to hold the port in. For the first month or so limit your deep bending over. This is not the time to try touching your toes.

Slow and easy is the best way to go, at least for me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
