Banded yesterday. When does swelling go down? & other questions

And a few other questions:

1) How long is it necessary to wear the stretchy band thing that you wrap very snuggly around your upper and mid belly?

2) I assume its the swelling that's putting pressure under the area just below my breasts, in the center, at the inch long incision point. What is under that area, the small pouch? I can see where too much food/liquid could back things up and cause vomiting? It hasn't come to that, but I see where it could. I'm so glad I can gauge it early enough to stop before it happens.

3) Did your stomach muscles hurt, like when trying to get up out of a chair or bed?

I was told the strechy band thing, I called it my girdle, lol...was for you comfort. So you can wear it for as long or as little as you want. I found it helped alot while trying to sleep. I had alot of gas pain in my chest and port pain. That is probably what you are feeling under your breasts. Im 2 weeks post op and it is mostly gone now. However I still do get some pain in the port area here and there.

Hang in there...it gets better!

Well question 1 idk cuz I didn't have one of those wrap things so I'm assuming it doesn't rly matter I just used a pillow when needed. 2nd that's exactly where my port id do the pain ur feeling is where ur skin and muscle is swollen and bruised prolly from your port if that's where urs is at. 3rd yup the bending over and twisting and leaning is going to hurt for a couple of weeks. Your body is getting adjusted to something foreign being in there. Right now ur body is not to happy to have it in there but I'm a week post op and most the pain is gone I'm still having to use my pain meds to sleep cuz I still can't lay on my stomache so my sides hurt from laying on them. The only thing I can rly suggest is take lots of gas x strips and walk a lot it may stink to walk but its worth it. I was able to get most the gas out within 48 hrs. Now with just a week post op I'm walking around all day just fine with hardly any pain. Now I can tell u this all most everyone ends up having a hard time with ur bowle movements so u may want to look into stool softners because now once u get constipated its extremely uncomfortable. Good luck and just remember soon u will be skinny yay!
