Hello! We're practically neighbors! My Dad lives in Albany, but I live near Bainbridge. Dr. Bagnato did my surgery on 10/19. It took me about 4 months to get approved. I had the usual gas pains and soreness after surgery, but I've really felt great. Dr. B left 1.5 cc in my band at the time of surgvery. My first fill was 6 weeks post op (2.5 cc) and my 2nd fill was on Dec 28th (2 cc). I've lost a total of 65 lbs, including the 2 week pre op Sugar Busters diet. Dr. Bagnato is great and I absoluely love my band!:D

OK Need ya'lls help. Had my lap band 6/25 and lost 30lbs What are you doing that I'm not -- I did not have time to do the sugar buster before surgery. My first vist was June 3, approved for insurance immediately, pre op then surgery Everything was very quick did not have time to get scared. But I would not trade it for nothing. I'm told everything is OK just slow for me to lose. I had 80lbs to lose maybe that's why I'm losing so slowly. I've had several fills and go back Thursday. I don't know if I will get a fill or not I'm not getting hungrey between meals and I have cut my meals down soooooooooooo much! I drink atleast 60 or more ounces of Water a day and I was walking 3miles a day until it got so cold now I'm doing ZUMBA (atleast Im trying LOL) I would like to be under 200 by May 22 we are going to Alaska on a cruise. But the way I'm going I don't think I'm going to get there! 20lbs togo. Please share what ya'll are doing maybe that will help me get a jump start, I can't do Breakfast to good - to tight.

Love to hear from ya.

Yay! Congrats!!! Keep us posted!

So glad to have found this thread!! I am one of Dr. Bagnato's bandsters too!! I was banded on Dec. 28 after having Esophagus surgery the day after Thanksgiving to rebuild my valve. I also had a hiatal hernia that he repaired when he did the band. I was one of the lucky ones tho. I did not have the gas pains for some reason and have done really well. I was able to stop my blood pressure meds a week after my surgery which made me so happy. I have lost about 27 pounds but a lot more in inches and really wish I had taken my measurements before surgery but I didn't. sad.gif

I live near Valdosta and am so hoping that Dr. B does not leave and go very far away. I really hate that Phoebe bought Palmyra out. I think the hospital and all of the staff there was the nicest of any hospital I have ever been in. Dr. B's staff are also the greatest and so willing to help and answer questions.

It took me six months to get approval from United Healthcare but it was worth the wait and is an amazing journey we are on. Congrats to you on your approval and let us know how you do.

To excitedmama, I don't journal (but probably should) but I do watch what I eat and am aware of the calories, sugar, and Protein in everything I eat. I also am working out on my Wii Fit 2-4 days a week now. Had to wait for awhile after surgery to start working out tho.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
