2011 - banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group

I am trying to picture Melody with this knot at the top of her head . She may have to change her name. The first thing that springs to mind is Sumo but they are huge so that won't work. Maybe Kewpie - I don't know if you have Kewpie dolls in the US but that sort of moulded curl on top of the head makes me think of the knot.

Y'all are cracking me up!

I think I mentioned I ordered a new engagement ring shank that opens on a hinge. My finger behind my knuckle is so tiny that my rings spin like crazy. I should have it soon! Yay!!

It's hot here today. Ugh. Very strange for May.

Elcee: Yes, I know what a kewpie doll looks like and what a visual of me as a kewpie doll.

Vicky: Oh yeah...another 20 pounds and my 'girls' are going to be saying 'hello' to my navel.

We're 11 days away from the wedding and I stepped on the scale this morning and...up 4 pounds? I've been a lot more restrictive in what I've been eating for the last week, hoping to shed that last 2 pounds and I gained 4 pounds. Then again, I did start taking Metformin at about the same time, so maybe that's it?

Yeah, my primary care is really thrilled that I'm controlling my blood sugar with diet, but said the fact that I'm still carrying a lot of belly fat and still having difficulty losing weight, indicates I'm still quite insulin resistant and that the Metformin will help with this.

Re: the granny panties. I guess I'd better go buy some new underwear. I had a visual of my being escorted up the aisle at the wedding and my underwear sliding to my ankles.

Well, I'm hoping the rain will hold off today. I seriously need to mow my lawn but up until now it's just been too wet. At least with the snow, the grass didn't grow.

Melody, I'd pay money to see THAT video! laugh.gif

After being stuck most of last week, I can eat just about everything this week. Wish there were some rhyme or reason to it.

You mean the weightloss tickers? Just click on someone else's ticker (it is a link). Then choose "create your own" and follow the directions.

OMG I think I have just had the worst eating day EVER.

Before Breakfast - 1 ginger nut (biscuit/cookie)

Breakfast - 2 slices lean bacon ,1/2 egg, 2 mushrooms fried in spray and cook.

During the morning. snack size chocolate bars, crackers.

lunch - 1 thin slice ham, 1 small slice cheese, small bowl of Cereal.< /p>

Afternoon - another ginger nut.

dinner will probably be a couple of mini meatballs with I have no idea what followed by rhubarb and custard.

Am I stressed or what???????

This is total proof that the band cannot stop you from grazing/stress eating etc.

I may have burned some calories from pacing up and down and being unable to actually settle and do anything. I did attempt to Iron but did not get very far.

Rollon tomorrow afternoon.

Yes, it has changed my life in some ways. I am happy to say my personal life, as far as relationships with friends and family, has been good for years and has not changed. The things that have changed are mostly mobility issues, self image and stuff like that. I feel and look so much better in clothes. I can cross my legs and paint my toenails. Getting in/out of my husband's truck is so much easier ....... stuff like that.

I have no regrets :)

Advise? Hmmmm..... You have to find your own way with this thing really. LBT is a great place to learn and get ideas, but I don't do things the way others insist they have to be done. I've found my own way to fit this in my life. You will need to find what works for you. I have not counted calories or tracked anything. I'm not saying you shouldn't. I'm just saying it does not fit in my lifestyle. I do stay mindful of Protein and calories, I just don't obcess over them. I don't exercise. I'm not saying you shouldn't or won't see better results if you do. I just don't 'workout'. I am more active because I can get around better. Attitude plays a huge role. Sometimes the journey seems so long, but it sure is better than living life morbidly obese :)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
