It's official... I'm starving!!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 12/15. At first, I felt no hunger. I'm sure this was because of swelling. Somewhere around day 4-5 I got my appetite back, but after eating a small amount I was full. Now, I feel like a bottomless pit! I'm trying to stick to my drs plan, but I'm always hungry! I can not wait for my first fill and I'm hoping it will make a difference. Any tips to get through this "bandster hell"?

tips no, sympathy YES...dealing with the same thing...the day I began my pre-op diet I said goodbye to my love of food, and big eating, and to a change for the better, assuming it would no longer be apart of my life, 3 weeks later and I can eat whatever.

If I had the self control needed for THIS stage, I would never have had weight loss surgery....I need help and went to the extreme to get the help I needed! I already have had 1 early fill, but judging by my docs reaction last time, I might get a major top up next time.

I'm doing ok, banded about the same time as you. Pay close attention to your body, are you really hungry, or do you just want food? try and up your Protein? more Protein shakes? I'm eating a little bit more than I'm supposed to, but I'm watching the calories. Just because I can eat doesn't mean I'm filling up on junk food.< /p>

Me, I'm not really hungry, I mean I want food at my meals and I'm hungry for them, but I'm full after I eat them. Making sure I spread my meals out, and that they have a lot of Protein, get my Water in,

I'm getting my first fill on Jan 6th. I can't wait! You're absolutely right, if I had will power I'd be thin and healthy without a band! I hope I get some restriction with my fill, but at the same time I'm trying not to bank on it. It seems like it takes some people a very long time to find thier sweet spot!

All I can say is it WILL get better!! There are days it becomes evening and I realize I have forgotten to eat! Other days I can eat allot. It all seams to balance out.

You could try having a cup of clear stock (not broth) when you're hungry between meals (yah I know does'nt sound that great when after a wek of clear liquids). It would have some flavor and be warm (it's cold her in NE!) as is only 15 cal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
