Need Help Getting back on Track

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've posted here and long overdue. I have gottten WAYoff track and need your help getting my head back in the game. I'm 3 years post op, had lost 60 pounds at one point, but have regained some of that. I've forgotten most of the rules (guidelines) and I guess I got pretty lax with everything. You know, you get to feeling better, having more energy, get rid of some health problems and next thing you know you accept where you are at instead of working towards the original goal. I know the band is a tool that is there for me to use, and I believe if I can just get my head back in the game I can lost what I have regained, plus go on to my original goal.

Any and all advice welcome!!! :)

You sound like me. I lost 75 pounds between 8/06-5/08 years (banded 06) and after two cortisone shots and a knee surgery which stopped my exercise, I regained 30 pounds over 2 years. I was unfilled due to heartburn and slowly refilled to where I was before, but I am hungry when I shouldn't be unless I am emotional eating. I need to relose the thirty pounds and about 8 more to be at goal. I am happy I was banded because I would have regained all the weight in a matter of months but I can't seem to get restarted. Has the band lost it's magic??? It was so easy the first time - fill, lose weight, fill, lose weight. Help!

Try starting on on liquid Protein shakes for about 3 days to take the focus off food and then come back and stay low carbs and it might kick back in. I have been fighting emotional eating the last couple of weeks. Stay on track a few days and then something throws me off again. I am working out about 2 hours a night but maintaining as I have not got my eating under control like it should be. Like a hamster on a wheel.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
