Medi weight loss clinic diet!

Recommended Posts

Do you know this diet or is anyone here following this diet? I am planning to start on this diet next week and wanted your thoughts on it as I have stalled my weight loss after losing 62lbs. Seems like it's a well rounded good diet to me. thanx.

Is it the same as "Medical Weight Loss"? I went on it a few years back. Seems to be controlled calorie (worked out to be between 1100-1200), low carb and low fat...but not "OMG I'm dying here" *low*. It was ok.

I was on it during the summer. Your only allowed to have 500 calories the first week, and it's basically all protien. I tried it for a week but got so sick of just eating meat I wanted to puke. They give you pills and B12 shots twice a week. I heard it works but I couldn't handle it.

ok...not the same as Medical Weight Loss. 500 calories and just Protein? That's not much food at all as Protein is high in calories.

Why spend that kind of money when you are already banded? My surgeon says when you stall to go back to a liquid diet for 1 to 2 weeks.

I did go on a new directions liquid diet for four weeks n lost ten lbs but after that plateau again! That's why I want to try this high Protein, low carb n low calorie diet for a while!

I have such mixed feelings about Medi. The first time I did it, I lost 20lbs in a month, but loved it. Money became an issue to I stopped going. I gained all the weight back of course. Tried it again and didn't do as well. It takes a lot of will power. First week was only 600 calories of Protein only. I can no longer stand the smell of deli turkey. and you better like cottage cheese and eggs cause thats all you'll have. Second week you add in 2 cups of veggies and week 3, 1 cup of fruit. The clinic I went to was 70 bucks a week. And by the 3rd week, all you're paying for is to get weighed in and get a shot by a tech, not even the RN. not worth the money. Also, even if I lost 2lbs, they acted like I was a faliure for not loosing more.

I went right back to weight watchers and did much better and was much happier!

I am in Texas and did a program with Internet Medical Clinics. At the time it was approximately $250 for 4 mos plus $18 a week for B-12 shots. They did a lot of lab work, prescribed Armour thyroid as well as the regular, phentermine, a very mild diuretic, for the first few weeks, Vitamins and gave a reommended diet. I lost really well for 6 months (phentermine apparently works less well after) and even kept weight off. I think the B-12 helped tremendously and wish any of my dotors would offer it. But it was expensive. Still, I am now at a plateau and am considering going back for everything but phentermine.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
