How can I not be losing?

I was banded on 10/07, and lost 15 lbs by the time I saw the Doctor on the 18th. I was very pleased.

Now I have been stuck........ I mean the scale has not moved one single ounce!!! for the past 10 days!! It is crazy maddening!!

I am keeping a food diary. Not eating anything off my approved food lists. Calorie intake typically between 850-1000 daily.

What am I doing wrong? I am feeling so frustrated!

Hm what are you doing for exercise? If you haven't started, it would be a great way to kick start things.

I'm also on a little plateau and for the next 2 days I'm going to do no carb (normally I don't do no carb at all so I'm hoping to shake it up a little by eliminating the carbs). I'm also going to change up my exercise (instead of doing an hour on the elliptical I may do 55 minutes in the morning and 20 at night...today I walked for 2.5 miles which I don't usually do). I'm also going to make sure I drink 70 oz of Water a day. How is your Fluid intake? Are you getting enough Water a day?

I know two people that had the same problem & what they did was increased their calorie intake to 1600 per day with excerising & their weight starting falling off like crazy....

Sometimes the body can get too little calorie intake & this can drastically slow down your metabolism. Just increase your portion size (with protein).

This should work, & I wouldn't be telling you this unless I saw proof with my own eyes on two different people (male & female) GOOD LUCK :wink2:

You know it's interesting that you are counting calories. I know that seems weird to say, but my nutritionist told me not to count calories but Proteins for the first couple months. I was suppose to have around 60 grams of Protein a day, which mostly came from dinner for me. When I did that I noticed that I was more balanced when I ate. Combine that with liquids and some exercise and you have a good deal going. Now for me after time I went back to my old routine of counting calories and had a major plateau so I think I will go back to basics.

Thank you all for some very good points. So far, my exercise has been only a stroll around the block about 3x/wk. (Now I am not very fit-- so that stroll was a bit of a challenge....) but I am sure I need to step it up a bit.

Also struggle with getting enough Water.

And as for bowel function............... ugh! Let's just say it was a challenge before surgery........ and it still is. Been considering a daily stool softener.

I will start walking tomorrow; and I see the doctor on Monday, so I will hope to get some perspective from him as well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
