Day 5 done of pre op diet. Some hours are better than others. Had my pre testing done (what a pain, wait for an hour for 10 minutes of questions and a 5 min ekg) then met with my surgeon who gave me some more reading material and we talked about the surgery. Tuesday next week. 1:30. Getting nervous and excited.

I'm feeling ya on this one. Banded on the 18th. Just got home from the hospital today. I find the gas pains to be just as bad as the incision sites. OH, and I figured out really quick my stomach IS only the size of a shot glass. I'm on a full liquid diet and it said I could have blended Soups, so I prepared a cups worth after having 1/2 c of chicken broth. I've violated the law of 30's already. I won't do that again!

Good luck to you all.

i was banded on the same day as you....but they ended up letting me go home that evening. the incisions dont really hurt for me, unless i poke them or soething. its all about the this gassy bloated feeling. it BLOWS. and *TMI ALERT! TMI ALERT! TMI ALERT!*

ive realized that its much less painful to pass gas than it is to belch. i dont know why that is. but lets just say, i am opting for the rear exit as much as possible!

whats the law of 30s? im definitely not hydrating enough...im trying though. im on clears til at least friday....i may stay on longer. i have no appetite but currently im having difficulty distinguishing pain from hunger.

im sad though...i didnt get weighed on surgery day so i dont know how much i lost during the two-week torture! AND my scale's batteries are dead so i cant even see if ive met my first goal of being not too fat for my scale...

Had mine on the 14th so just to update everyone...one week banded. Port area is stll sore. I've heard that can last weeks or even months. I went to work Thursday and I think everything would have been ok except the electricity was out and I had to walk up 5 flights to my office. Then I sweat for an hour in a freezing office. I ended up a liitle dehydrated. I'd been running a low grade temp the prior days so who knows if it was just one thing. Didn't go to work Friday...but my 3 year old was sick so I used that as an excuse. My hubby stayed home and took care of us...ok so this lap band is my BIG SECRET but I've lost 20 or so pounds since I started the pre op Jan 31. My mom kept saying not to be too concerned if no one notices before I lose 40 or 50. BUT I had a couple of people ask me if I was OK or if I was out for medical reasons. I want to let out my secret but I don't want the judgement and gossip that goes along with that. I tested the waters gently during the whole evaluation process by asking questions to co workers like, "I've heard weight loss surgery is very safe these days" when there talking about yet another diet or pill that a friend is talking. It's like it's ok to take drugs to lose weight (been there)

I was banded on january 3rd so i am at my three weeks on Monday. I have lost 35 pounds since i started the preop diet. down from 290 5 weeks ago and now im 255!!! i lost a lot in the begininng but its definetly slowing down. I also feel that i can eat more now as well which isn't good for the weight loss. I get my first fill on my birthday of course... feb 2 so i am hoping that the fill helps! i dont want to eat a lot! haha! my doc told me that if i am hungry, then eat... but dont snack! snacking is the hard part for me!

really want to go to a support group on monday and hopefully i can get my motivation back to eat well. i haven't been excercising as much as i should either. i have a gym memborship but i am dreading going there for the first time in months!

i know once i go once, it wont be so bad, but i just hate all the skinny and in shape people. i feel huge and stupid!

Well, it happened. I was banded on Friday the 21st! I dunno. It hurts. Most in my chest and in my left shoulder. Finding a comfy sleeping position is tough. I am glad I took a week off of work because I think I'll need it to be 100%. But honestly, it isn't so bad or I wouldn't be up typing this message.

It is really strange because, between the gas and the pain, I could not be less hungry. In a few days I went from being the always hungry girl to the girl who has to be reminded to drink something other than Water.< /p>

Here's hoping that continues. And best of luck to those of you being banded next week.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
