Very very tight in the morning

Recommended Posts

In the mornings since my last fill Aug. 27th I am so tight in the morning that I am not eating til around 1pm. Is there anything you can do to not feel so full and uncomfortable in the morning. I feel like I ate a full course meal. I do drink a cup of coffee in the morning but that doesn't help at all. What exactly causes this?

I am the same way. I can sometimes drink a protien shake around 10am, but normally can't eat until sometime after noon. My doctor says this is very typical once you reach good restriction.

My daughter also had Lap-Band 3 years ago, and she is the same way.

Me too! Since my first fill, I can only tolerate liquids the first few hours that I'm awake. My doctor told me that this is quite common.

I drink a Protein shake in the morning every day for breakfast. I can eat, but don't take the time. I believe the reason you are tighter in the mornings is because you've gone several hours without any fluids and are a bit dehydrated. Drinking fluids helps to rehydrate you and give you a better ability to eat solid foods. I know I'm definitely tighter if I haven't drank enough fluids for a few days!

Please make sure you are getting enough fluids...normally 64 oz/day is recommended.

I'm the same way even though I don't have restriction. I just drink a low carb/low cal Protein shake at 7 a.m. (when I get up) and another one at 9:30 a.m. By noon I can usually eat. On the days when I didn't do my shakes, I found it still difficult at noon. I'm wondering if making the stomach muscles work...even on liquids...has anything to do with it. Dunno...but it works.

I am the same way - can't handle real food in the mornings.....just a Protein Shake for me...and I can eat solids by around noonish...but even then I am not real hungry. It's wierd...but seems to be the norm once you hit the sweet spot!

So this is the sweet spot I have heard so much about. So then there is really no need for another fill next week? I love it though not being really able to eat, but at night I am like the cookie monster..hahaha

same here..

No way i can eat something before noon and even then if i make the mistake and eat something solid i will not tolerate it and be in pain.

I found out that if i eat a small cup of yogurt or half a banana around noon then i can eat easier lunch and without the fear of being stuck.

After 7 or 8 a.m. ... that's another story and definitely another person's stomach.

*coffee btw makes you much much much more tight, with or without the band

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
